I just checked the review of Inspiron E1705 with a Geforce go 7800 GPU inside. It only achieved 3800 score in 3dmark05 which is extremely low score for such an GPU, even worse than my Geforce go 6800 (4200 in 3dmark05 with stock driver).

I wonder if anyone has tried O/C it and wuts the highest 3dmark for geforce go 7800 so far?

    Thanx a lot!

    Specs:

    Geforce go 6800 (12,5,256mb/256bit)
    Geforce go 7800 (20,7,256mb/256bit)

There's no way a geforce go 6800 GPU should be better than geforce go 7800.....

Dell underclocks the Go7800 GPU in the E1705 for some odd reason. Overclocking can fix that. There were a few threads on it a while ago, so try a thread search.

You can overclock the 7800 by using software such as Rivatuner. You shouldn't have a problem getting around 4500 in 3dmark05 OCed.

This is old story when the EI705 came out with the 7800 the bad thing is undercloked cus it was maded wrong and it overheats, people overclock it using extremedrivers and some others, thats when the Geforce 7800 wasnt available for a long time because they were trying to fix this problem, until the Geforce 7900gs came out.
