Hi there,
I have a dell e1505 with an ati x1400 card and for some reason, it only achieve a relatively low score of 1500 on the 3dmark03. I was expecting something more. Also, on some game where I met full requirements for, the game runs at very low fps; on Medieval 2: Total War, on lowest setting, i was hitting between 10-15 fps. Now that is sad.
So i was wondering if there is anyway to improve this or that this is all the card could handle. Maybe its the driver that i have, which is the latest omega one, but doesn't have a catalyst.
Thanks for any suggestions.![]()

That is an abnormally low score for your system. You should reach around 1700 3DMark05 points with the Dell drivers. If you have ATT installed, you could check your clocks, and make sure that powerplay isnt messing with you (ie, on).

Are you even sure that you have an X1400? Sounds like a GMA950.
Try updating your drivers with the ATI card:

I am pretty sure its an x1400, it says so on my device manager. Also, i was wondering what a catalyst do? Does it improve fps or is it useless?
I am trying to reinstall my driver right now. -

Newer drivers can help increase performance in games and other 3D applications.
Remember to follow that guide step by step so you don't mess anything up. -

ok, i got rid of my omega driver and reinstalled ATi's driver... but a small problem emerges. Although, the driver is installed and everything, the catalyst won't work. For some reason a Common Language Runtime Debugging Services window pop up and state that:
CLi.exe
process id=oxfc8 (4040), thread id = 0X11c (284), could not be handled
Agg...this is so frustrating... all i wanted to do was get decent fps on my games!!!
BTW, i really appriciate all of your responses. thx -

Do you have netframework?
Catalyst needs it. -

nvermind. The problem only shows up if i wanted to open control center. Anyways, after reinstalling ati's driver instead of the omeaga driver, it seems to be working perfectly now, my games have no more lags!
Anyways, thanks for all of your help guys, this is probably one of the best forum out there. -
I think it is the best forums out there. I did my research and have to say this site is just awesome! Quick responses, great help with incredible knowledge.
