Besides graphical enhancements would direct x 12.0 also increase fps for games?
And do I need a gpu that supports dx12.0 to benefit from it?
And what about quad support, would all games finally make full use of quad with dx 12.0 or is that from a cake?

There was a post made about this about 2 months or so ago with what Nvidia did to compare the results between Mantle and DX12. The disparity between the two was startling. While Mantle raised the bar a little bit in games, DX12 really shined and shot through the roof in comparison.
With what was shown in the results between the two, DX12 was clearly better in FPS increases, and it wasn't really close, either.
I am very much looking forward to seeing DX12 next year if/when it comes out then through Windows 9, if early reports of that are accurate. -
