    Yo,
I'm looking at two laptops at the moment and I'm confused about the differences between two integrated graphics cards (I'm obviously comparing everything else between the laptops too, but can't work out which graphics card is "better" / worse):

The two cards in question (with shared memory - both, allegedly of a max of 128mb!) are: the NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 6150 and the ATI RADEON® XPRESS 200M IGP graphics (I have no further information on the type of card involved for either laptop).

Are either of these cards even slightly better than the other one?

Many thanks for any advice - and I apologise if this is a stupid question!

    Thanks.

if you're looking for a notebook, i would strongly suggest you fill out the "What Should I Buy?" sticky.

Ahh, I was trying to compare two laptops that have caught my interest. I'm opening another post in another folder on this forum now.

So, it appears that there's no major difference between the two, eh?

No major difference. Personal preference, really, whether you like ATI or NVIDIA better. I like NVIDIA myself ;)

As mentioned either card should perform equally. Differences if any are minimal.
Also depending on the amount or RAM, 6150 is capable of using upto 256MB.

Aha, I see. Many thanks indeed for your posts (and apologies for posting in the wrong section). It seems that the overall consensus is that they are both just as good!

One further question, if you do not mind:
Out of these two AMD processors, is there any major difference?

    ML-34 1.8GHz, 1800MHz. 1mb cache, VERSUS
Tl-54. 1.6GHz, 1800MHz. 1mb cache (the 1800MHz refers to the processor bus, by the way.): .

[The TL-54 is a DUAL-Core Turion, whereas the ML-34 is just a bog-standard Turion.] I tried looking at the AMD website, but can't find any benchmarks or anything to suggest which one might be better, for general use. [I'm not going to be doing anything wild with my computer, like computer graphics modelling or anything! I'm just merely curious as to which one is better!]
I'm thinking that the Tl-54 might be worse, because it has a slower clock speed and I think I heard that only some applications can use a dual-processor, but I know I know virtually nothing about hardware, hence my question.

Dual core is way better then single core, although intels dual cores are much faster. If your gaming i would get a non integrated graphics card, but either way dual core is the way to go.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it - I'm now rather more so equipped to understand dual vs single-core processors, as well as graphics thingy wingies! :D

Ooops, I hadn't seen that post by Chaz in the forum - it is immensely useful; thanks for pointing that out to me. :D.
