    Hey guys,
I guess most us who want to overclock have had no option but to use 169.04 since they are the latest drivers that allow us to. BUT NOT ANYMORE!!! I just tried out the latest 185.20 drivers I can overclock perfectly without the clock settings being reset! There is also a thread in laptopvideo2go and many other people have confirmed that they also can overclock their 8600GS with the latest release!

Here is the link - 185.20. Blu-ray playback doesn't work since I had to use the modded INF but f*** it, I'd rather play newish games at decent fps rather than 1 year old drivers :D.

I presume some of you took the risk and probably successfully unlocked the BIOS so you could use all drivers to overclock. For the rest of us, happy new year! :).

    Regards, Jam.

thanks for the info. someone else already reported that the new driver allowed overclock with 8400m gs in a hp, so figure since they have the same core, why not. and it worked.
how high did can u get it to?
i can get it to 650/1300/750 easily, but i stopped when i hit 85C in intensive games. got 3100 in 3dmark06 at 1440*900.
