Which of the card has better performance?

    nvidia g210m with 512mb vram v.s. nvidia g310m with 256 mb vram

I tried to search the forum before posting but couldnt not find anything =P. Thanks in advance.

It depends on what resolutions you're running at. I'd think that the 210m will be slightly better due to double the VRAM, but neither of them are going to be "good" in any sense of the word. They'll be marginally better than integrated Intel graphics, if that.

Ah I see, how is the 310m 256mb compared to gefroce 8500 gt? I am mainly playing games that are released before 2006, so I am wondering if the 310m 256mb will be enough to handle that.

That I'm not sure of. You say the 8500... is that the desktop chip you're talking about? That's very hard to gauge, but they should be similar in performance from the specs I'm looking at. But the 310 is hampered by only having half the memory bandwidth.

Actually, more research is showing they should be similar in performance, the 310 might even beat it out by a bit. But not by much.
