Is there any advantage/disadvantage to running a game on integrated vs dedicated if it can run on either perfectly fine? I was wondering if one would create less heat or something.

Yeah, integrated graphic output significantly less heat than dedicated graphic card. That will result in more battery if you game on battery and could result in the fan(s) running slower or shutting down for longer periods, but that depends on how the OEM have coded the fan.

Yes, the easy short answer is the integrated gpu will run cooler and use less power. This can be an advantage for battery usage when the discrete gpu are often forced to run at half speed. Meaning if a game runs well on the integrated gpu, then it will do so on battery as well. But for the discrete gpu, it could run 50% slower on battery, so the game may not be playable. But the integrated will be slower than the discrete gpu. So most modern games need the discrete to run well.
If you are worried about heat, and power, you can always undervolt, or underclock, etc, to slow down the discrete gpu.
But the nice thing about Optimus/Enduro is you can switch between iGPU and dGPU.Cloudfire likes this.
