    Quick question: Safe to flash vBIOS from different laptop manufacturer?

    Yeah, is it safe? Considering the two laptops have the same kind of card, voltages, etc. but only coming from different laptops? (Mine's an Acer, thinking of flashing it with an ASUS vBIOS for the 9300M GS..)

    Anyone who can advise? thanks :D

    Don't try it, I don't have 1st hand experience but there's a thread out on this forum on flashing different vBIOS for nvidia cards and even if you do so there's probably little gain for the risks involved.

    Modding your own vBIOS is typically safe if you know what you're doing, but I wouldn't try to flash a vBIOS from another manufacturer onto it. You don't know what kind of tweaks have been made. At worst, it could leave your card inoperable.

    You should only use the one meant for your laptop. The vBIOS may have been specifically tweaked for the other manufacturers cooling capacity, voltages etc.
