Here is some proof, the options I have turned off is soft smoke edges, number of corpses put to low, no AA, 8xAF. Textures set to High, High, High, tested Extra and didn´t put down the performance a lot, maybe 1 fps here and there.

I´m in the 20´s during heavy fighting, then anything from 20-60 fps depending on location and this on my go 7800GTX. Now I don´t play this game on my laptop but on my desktop 8800GTX. But it´s still nice to see the laptop being able to drive the game at 1920x1200. Were this answer to your doubt?

Cevat Yerli made an interesting comment. When he said what will be the limiting factor of Crysis he said CPU actually..

"Shack: What is the main limiter for Crysis in terms of GPU, CPU, or RAM? If users are near the low end of the requirements, which should they upgrade first?

Cevat Yerli: We would say first CPU, then GPU, then memory. But it must be in balance. If you are balanced,
we are more CPU bound then GPU, but at the same time at higher CPU configurations we scale very well for GPUs."

The quality of the pics you posted are terrible, just look at those jaggies ouch, looks like they are run @ 1024x768 with everything off. "Were this answer your doubt" I think your trying to ask WILL this answer my doubt, No, it just confirms that you are running this game at a low resolution and settings and claiming it is on high. I assure you we are not blind, those pics are horrible. I hope your not trying to say your 7800 is out performing a 7950 GTX SLI b/c that is almost laughable. Comparing specs on GPU's is one thing, real game performance is another. Enough said about this, lets stay on topic.
    http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2870&p=26

Please tone down the size of your pics next time.

Sorry again for getting off of the subject everyone, can't wait for Crysis. I hope that the performance will increase for Crysis through driver updates or the final release. I would like to run this game with at least mid to high settings.

Sorry, but those definitely look like 1920x1200 screenshots running at 1920x1200 to me. If you take a screenshot at that resolution without AA, you'll see that it looks just as bad.

Thats all well and fine, as long as they let you scale it back to play well with less graphics on an old machine, and didnt throw efficantcy out the door (aka scaling the grpahics down to a point where it looks like farcry will take 2x the processing power even tho visuals are identical)

Vicious, comments on the cpu>gpu comment yarvil made? I personally think it is BS.

And also he makes a remark that correlates with what you said. He said Crysis will push hardware requirements as far as farcy did on its release.

Enough already. It looks like crap, if I turned all the settings down I would get 70fps too, geez.

Downloading Cyrsis Digital Art Asset Pack right now from EA. I peordered Crysis a week ago.

I am also downloading Hellgate London (not demo), they just released it on EA tonight. I will post some screenies.

Hmm well my take on that is that there are more cpu threads than in the past offloading the gpu alot. However I think the statment is geared for a pc user where the gpu is much stronger than in notebooks. For us I think the gpu will become a bottleneck first. As a C90 user like me and you the cpu is not a problem for sure.

I'm keeping my ears open for any news. What I suspect is that the problems with the demo that people who have already downloaded it because they pre-ordered from Crysis may be plaguing the other demo. Or simply that Crytek will release it tomorrow night or morning. Crytek never said a time, they always just said the 26th. I'll update when I find out.

It's also at 18 fps, in XP with DX9 and an 8800GTS... something tells me no laptop will be able to run Crysis in DX10 with all the bells and whistles at native resolution for a loooooong time. ;)

Thats sad, while it may look good at first glance the blur there is taking out alot of the rendering. there is empty space like the sky. With all that power it should be running much better. Its just some rocks and trees. Imagine what happens to that already low fps when a fire fight breaks loose?

Looks like they did a bad job with the optimization. Those graphics kind of remind me of oblivion actually and it ran so much better.

I got farcry late, when it was like a 10$ game and it ran great. (after some patches) I dont think anybody is playing dx10 max settings right now not even a quad core overclocked with sli 8800 ultras....

The question is tho, taking down max settings how well does the game scale, and alot of times you cant even visually notice the difference from say high textures and ultra high, but the performance jumps alot.

All this prerelease stuff has to be taken with a pinch of salt because its all speculation we have no idea untill the full game is released just how good it will look and perform at a given setting. Esp for a notebook nobody in there right mind will be playing at 1920x1200... I find 1280x800 is more than fine for a 15" screen and that will tripple fps vs 1920x1200 right away.

CRF Fred, well I beat you to it, but who the hell cares I play the game on my desktop rig all maxed anyway. Now I´m finally going to push my overclocked system with 8800GTX to it´s limit with Crysis.

A Notebook playing Crysis at 1920x1200? I would like to see that, though doubt it will ever happen with current GPU´s in the notebooks.

From what it seems from the demo threads, it runs like crap....10-18 fps avg on all max, on quad core and 8800 on xp ......not optimized at all.

I was thinking maybe since far cry was so well optimized so would crysis, dont know what went wrong was it either letting EA in on the action or the game still needs more developing time and patches.

I cant make a proper judgment since I haven't tried the demo my self but from what other people have reported, its still unoptimized

Ive almost lost all hope from Crysis now... they keep feeding us with bull****. I wonder if EA joining up with Crytek had anything to do with this.

Demo will be released in September -- Sorry has been delayed a month just for SandBox (BS was delayed since the beta sucked so bad)

Demo will be released October 26 -- Sorry we meant only for pre-orders, the others keep waiting.

Game is very scalable, back 2 years and head 2 years a single 7800GTX runs the game fine on high settings
-- BS quad cores equipped with 8800's cant even run it that well.

    Whats next.....

One last chance for Crysis....I really hope they can pull the biggest 180

Cant even run the installer? :D

Well i am not really looking forward for the game anyway because so far what impressed me is the graphics only but how can my 8600M GT handle it? Without a nice GPU it may just look like any other game out there.

Still, i wanna give the demo a try. :p
