Has anyone else had trouble with left4dead 2 freezing, looping sound, and crashing when multicore rendering option is enabled? I kind of want to enable it because there is a noticeable difference in performance, but the crash is lame. Anyone know what the cause of this would be?

Is it during any specific event or map? Is the chip QS/ES?

And is the crash just to desktop, or a BSOD?

Not at any specific time really. it just randomly happens...it stutters/loops sounds and i gotta end the process. So just a crash to desktop.

Have you checked with Intel for the latest chipset driver?

yeah... well I have an M17x-R1 so am using the latest nvidia driver for chipset; I have suspected that of being the problem, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know that for sure :p

Apparently switching from catalyst 10.3b to real 10.3 fixed my issue. Everything runs great now.

Multicore rendering has always been buggy on L4D. No surprise here.
