hey guys just brought a hard-copy of RUSE and was pleased to see its tied to steam...probably the best compromise to UBI's DRM.
only played through the first few missions but it actually looks quite interesting, no base building but very tactical and when you add in the many different ruses makes for a enjoyable and varied game...
if anyone else has the game and wants to play, maybe try and learn the ropes together feel free to add me to steam......
my id is: abiding

Yea ubisoft mention that awhile ago in their press release. But tell me how the game is though, because it does not look very interesting....

It's really fun
Haven't touched the campaign yet but I've been playing some private multiplayer games with a friend. There is a small bit of base building with minimal build time. It's mainly focused on strategy and tricking your enemies. I'd really recommend it
Oh, it's not exactly a fast paced RTS like Starcraft 2 but rather a fight a sort of slow large scale fight with nice control of your camera zoomIt's executed really well
-
yeap i agree mate, its a heap of fun, graphics are clean and crisp, and it is heavily focused on tactics, trying to out maneuver your opponent and use the different ruses to get the upper hand, ive played one skirmish against AI and got owned, but so far so good, enjoying it.
definitely would be heaps of fun with mates.....hence the add me request in my first post. -
really enjoying it, Ive just put a couple more hours into skirmish mode and it is so much fun, AI is very good, and the amount of units one can create is very varied and heaps of fun, just played a skirmish and focused on long range attacks with heavy tanks and bombers and had a very clear victory, the second game the AI predicted my tactics and worked me with fighters and anti-air units......
building is limited to creating supply depot's, and the different buildings for air/infantry/anti-air/tank/and defenses as well as a couple of options to help increase ones income and other than that its just a matter of using tactics to win the day and cleverly using the many many different ruses to try and pull the wool over the eyes of the opponent.......
i only really brought this game because i wanted a new game and there was nothing better (already pre-ordered Civ V) but its so much fun.......i am really wanting to play with some friends, so guys get out there and get it so we can play -
I'd probably buy it for $25 but for $50 no thanks. Well it's $40 at D2D right now with the weekend coupon deal.

Just make sure Ubisoft's DRM is not built in *in addition* to Steam's DRM. That's annoying (see AC2).
-
i can confirm there is no UBIsoft DRM present at all, once you activate the game via steam its all good, offline or online
-
Well a lot to like, but I do hate that units are walking through each other and still dancing with each other while moving from one region to the other. And finally while I love the zoompart I think it's fine that I can see all the destroyed units on the map, but while zoomed halfway out between stacked bricks and actual units I see that huge load of destroyed tanks scattered all over. It's a little annoying since it seems to me that all views are mostly tactical views except when zoomed almost al the way in.
IMHO they should balance these views a bit, but apart from that it's really great -
i just played a game with chlwotjd678 ( he owned me, but so much fun), MP runs smooth as and is by far the best aspect of the game, 1vs1 and 2vs2 are heaps of fun, and team tactics are hugely important......great game guys go get it!
-
Heh it really depends on how good your connection is really... I sometimes lag with my friend but now I just arrived in UK so i have better connection
Reizo in steam. Look me up in the NBR steam groupI'm always on
-
thanks mate added you to steam, im in Aussie and played chlwotjd678 who is in America and we had no lag, so im happy with that.
-
mtness did really good for his first MP match though
Anyways guys the reason people don't play this game is because they keep losing at first and they get tired of losing so they just quit. If they keep playing, they'll realize how great this game is. I lost like 10 matches in a row before getting used to play and now i play high levels fine. If any of you guys need advice and tips (such as defending against rushes, that seems to be the problem for most new players.)
My steam ID is same as my NBR name and just add me if you want to play
If you're into RTS(especially if you like RTS that requires strategies not brutal force, GET THIS GAME! If you're on a budget, go on ebay and search for this game. I bought a key that i used to activate this game on steam for just $25! I saw a couple of sellers who sold just the key to activate on steam. (Most of these sellers are usually with good feedback ratings) Anyways i buy keys that i can activate on steam a lot of times and i save a great deal of money -
Oh, if you're playing with me, prepare to shout a lot of " ARE YOU DOING"
I do weird stuff
Also, I don't see Mtness's friend invite thingDid you add the correct one? lol
It's the one with the cartoon pic
