    R6 Vegas on M170 with 7800GTX

    Hello and Greetings from sunny Hohenfels, Germany. The PX here just received R6 Vegas for PC. The box warns that it may not run on the laptop versions of the acceptable video cards listed (including nVidia 7600/7800 - but the desktop versions). Has anyone successfully run it on a 7800 or 7900/7950GTX? TIA

    It should run fine. The 7800 Go is as fast or faster than the desktop 7600, so you'll be sitting pretty. The mobile cards really aren't that much different from their desktop brethren any more.

    The game should run fine. The Go7800 is a high-end card, and can play most games really well.

    Thanks for your rapid (and good new-sy) replies. The original Rainbow Six got me started in computer gaming - followed by Rogue Spear then Ghost Recon (which I still play - heavily modded). Raven Shield, Lockdown and GRAW were such disappointments - I'm really looking forward to 'Vegas.

    R6 Vegas freakin rules online. Thing is my laptop is no where near powerful enough to run it decently. I have it for Xbox 360 :p

    I run Vegas on full settings at 720p resolution but it needs to be tweaked through the .ini files... After OC'ing my card now i can play at a higher resolution.. If you need any help lemme know.. Hopefully will meet you online on vegas!!

    z-cool - OK - I finally got it but I've loaded it first on my desktop w/ a 7600GT - seems to run pretty good - but I can't set the game resolution to the LCD native resolution. Could I get the info on which .ini files to tweak? Thanks...

    Yea Sure you can Geo.. Try the official forums for tweaks UBI Vegas Forums

    Heres a little something tht will help you with custom resolutions.. Keep in mind tht Vegas doesnt support widescreen.. Dunno why devs arent including it these days :confused: :confused:

    Every time I try to play this game or Oblivion my FPS goes from 30 to 5 for about 30 seconds every 5 minutes. Doesn't matter which resolution I am playing at...

    Has anyone experienced something like this?
