I've been playing TW2 and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I am at the last chapter and would like to know which other games have a similar combat system like this game.
Mostly to me that is what counts otherwise i get bored way too fast. I have tried a bunch of other quite popular rpgs and didn't like them. The standard RPG elements are there in most other games anyway such as side quests, leveling up and skill trees and a bunch of different items. I'm not really into rpg shooters such as mass effect or fallout.

I have tried the following games and passed:
    DA:O
    Mass Effect
    TES IV

I would try Divinity 2: Ego Draconis/The Dragon Knight Saga. A very good RPG/Hack and Slash...Single player, challenging combat, good story(though not as dark or with the game altering choices as TW2) and fast paced...since you say you get bored with the other games that are pretty much 'true' RPG's.

Not super comparable to TW2, but my favorite RPG's are Oblivion, Dragon Age and Just Cause 2(not sure it counts as an RPG but it's tons of fun)

Try The Witcher 1. It was excellent as well. The same murky world. The same characters. A similarly dark story. Similar music. The same developer. Graphically the game still rocks.

Well, if it's mostly about the swords and if you can trade in some RPG for some Action then look into Darksiders (it's the love child of Zelda and God of War).

The Witcher 1 is the sequel's predecessor, so it's the obvious choice for playing a game similar to the Witcher 2.

For RPGs with a large, open world and plenty to explore, the Elder Scrolls series is the best representative.

For RPGs regarding moral choices as a key part of gameplay, the Fable series comes closest but doesn't do shades of grey as well as the Witcher series.

... moral choice? You're right about not doing shades of grey - when you're given a choice between eating kittens and saving puppies from a burning building, you know someone's morality compass only points two ways.

Fable's moral choices just don't really seem to run very deep. There's just something about them that makes them seem a little empty. Not quite as empty as Shepard's Paragon vs Renegade shtick, perhaps, but still...

Now, you want an RPG featuring moral choices as a key part of gameplay? Go play some Ultima.

I've already tried TW1. Didn't like it as much as number 2. Oddly enough i guess witcher 2 is one of the only RPGs I have played that I didn't have to force myself to play.

This coming from a self-confessed ADD FPS nut, I'm not surprised. Shouldn't you have asked for games that have lots of eyecandy, plenty of action and some role-playing to sweeten the deal while you're getting your fix?

Each to his own buddy. Also I'm not an fps nut. I don't jump on the COD or BF bandwagon each time a new game comes out. My prevalent genre of choice are fighters. Can't blame me because I bore easy of the slow paced point and click RPGs like Dragon Age.

I second this. The Witcher I was an absolutely amazing game.

@OP - I don't think RPG is what you are looking for in the slightest...

What was TW2 then? I guess it was more Fable-esque of a game.

Action RPGs would be more down the alley of the OP's request, after all the "slow-paced point-and-click" gameplay occupies a large amount of time for RPGs on the market, otherwise there's little point to calling them "Role-playing" when you don't get to use your main character for anything else other than combat.

Back to topic: Torchlight, Gothic series, Sacred 2 are all RPGs with more emphasis on action. That should keep the ADD fighter-based gamer amused for a few hours before ennui sets in.

Just wait for D3. It is a similar drama with a little different game mechanics. And D3 looks amazing.

It will, has Blizzard ever put out a sequel that was crap? No, the one game company that stays true to their word that is they will put out the best games and they will be finished When they are finished. Not to mention the amount of time they take to beta test and game balance.

Well I'm thinking more about the fact that its not made by the same guys who made D2.

D2 was all about pvp. Really fast paced but also infested with hackers. It seems that they are making D3's pvp way slower and making the game more about pve. I don't mind pve as long as the loot is good and the items are similar to the way they were in D2. There are some things I like and some things I don't really.

Well luckily I think they figured out that dropping weapons and not clicking save shouldn't let you relog in and pick up that stuff again lol. And they stated that they will have a real money sink this time :D

For those of your guys waiting for D3, have you taken a look at Torchlight 2? A few key D2 team members are behind it including the Schaefer Brothers and Peter Hu. Loved the first Torchlight, but without multiplayer to motivate me I never finished it though I still got way more than my $5 worth out of the game. Thankfully Torchlight 2 is fixing that, and adding a more robust single player campaign with cinematics designed by the studio behind Shank. Also there is full mod support just like in the first game. Torchlight 2 is supposed to release sometime in July, and I only heard good things from sites who got some hands-on time with it at E3.

the game was 9/10 for me,

    then i played ch.3 , turned into a 7/10 game

if you didn't play the witcher 1 past the prologue/act 1 you are really missing out. act 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 just keep getting better and better

Add Titan Quest to the list. Quite good and very cheap. And of course if wanting to go old school Diablo 2 (since Diablo 3 hasn't been released).

Just read a few collated reviews for Dungeon Siege 3 on metacritic, just as old school as Diablo 2 with lots of loot collection and action and a nod to word-building and dialogue.

I doubt the OP will bother taking up my suggestion though.

Perhaps you should try Dragon Age 2, then. She is, shall we say... a different creature from her mother. They both have their beauty, mind you, but require differing moods to truly appreciate their splendour.
