All I play are RTS games. I guess I want to play at max settings.. whatever that may include. So will 7400 do the job, or do I need 7600/7900GS? This is assuming I have 1GB ram and keep in mind I do want to play Supreme Commander. Yes, I've read the sticky telling about graphics cards but I would still like an answer to this. Thanks

Not all RTS are equally demanding. Your desire to play at max settings should tell you that you will want the more powerful GPUs. Is your buying decision going to be based solely on your RTS gaming experience?

Based on what you've said I would recommend at least the go 7600, but since you want to max everything out, the go 7900GS will obviously give you more flexibility and longevity at max settings.
