    Radeon 7650M or Gt 630M

    Hi;
    I want to buy a laptop and want to
    choose one: Lenovo Ideapad Z580
    Ci7 with Nvidia Gt 630M or Sony
    Vaio SV E15 11 NFX with Amd
    Radeon 7650M.
    My question is Is 630M much better
    than 7650M?

    The 630m is not "much better". They should be about the same... the 7650m is just a rebranded 6650m and the 630m is a rebranded 540m.

    I think you're right that the GT 630m won't be very much better when comparing actual gameplay performance, but it's definitely rated many spots better than 7650m according to the chart below. Also the 7650m has slower clocks so it's rated about 15 spots worse than GT 630m and 11 spots worse than a 6650m. The GT 630m is slightly better than a gt 540m(just 1 spot better). so GT 630m wins. (A 6650m is more close in performance to Gt 630m than a 7650m to Gt 630m)

    If you check little better you will see that 7650 = 6630 and 7670 = 6650.

    GT630 is more or less GT540 level.
