Are we talking desktop cards or mobile cards?

For mobile its just HD2600, I'd say the 8600GT is probably slightly better (5%), but there isn't a good deal of benchmarks out yet.

As stated, the HD2600 GDDR3 > the 8600M-GT DDR2. The two chips are for all intents and purposes equal if clocked the same.

Out of curiosity, any laptop models sporting the GDDR3 version of the HD2600?

The HP 8510p is the only one I know of, though it's underclocked.

Well if the Mobility Radeon HD 2600 retains it status as ATI's high-end DX10 graphics card, an it barely compares to nVidia's 8600M GT which is not even their high-end DX10 card, then something is seriously wrong with ATI.

Actually, the HD2600 is ATI's mainstream DX10 card, and it compares very nicely to the 8600M-GT, not to mention the 8600M-GS. ATI's high end card is currently the HD2600XT, which is slightly behind the 8700M-GT I believe.

    Yup.

    It's a 512mb dedicated, though I'm pretty sure it's DDR2 RAM. Not 100% on that though, I haven't been keeping up with the F3ka and F3sa models.
