I have an e1505 and i am attempting to either OC it or just get the latest drivers avalible for it...
I am running the radeon Mobility x1400.. i have ati tool open but it is displaying core 1304.28 and memory 824.54 I thought these must be very very wrong since most people recommend about 500/500 but this is what poped up without me touching a thing. I installed I8kfanGUI but all i can see is cpu temp not gpu temp or any other temps

I have the T5600 (1.83 gighz core 2 duo) and running vista 32 bit...
    Anyone have any recommendations?

Problem with that guide is when it says download the drivers from ATI...
ati has a nice little thing on the x1400 site that says

Currently AMD does not provide any driver support for Mobility Radeon™ products. All driver and technical support for Mobility Radeon™ products is provided by the original laptop or notebook manufacturer. The drivers that are available for download at ati.amd.com are for desktop products only.

To download Windows Vista Mobility Radeon™ drivers or driver updates for your laptop or notebook product, please visit your laptop or notebook manufacturer's website.

So are the ones on dell's website the "newest" ones...

You can use a program called the Mobility Modder (Google it, you will find a guide on how to use it as well) to modify the INF files that come with ATI's desktop driver so that it will install on your mobile card.

I have the ATi X1400 and have tried ocing it.
    I used ATi Tool
I believe the core is 432mhz and the memory is close to 375mhz.
I dont remember the actual numbers but it was something like that.

    I have i8kfangui on my E1505.
Open the main page, and click "options"
go to the "status reading" tab and select all of them. All will work except the second fan status one.
If it still doesnt work I can send you screenshots of every option tab I have in i8kfangui

When you go about overclocking make sure to force the fans to full speed.

I have the same laptop as you and if you want an alternative driver to Dell's, you'll have to use Omega drivers. I've also tired the Mobility Modder to no success, but if you can somehow manage to work on on yours, then more power to ya!

To be honest with you, there's no point on OC'ing our X1400, it's just too weak. Unless you're playing old games, then the FPS can get reasonable at times.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I ran HL2 at high settings at a fair FPS.

I was able to get really resonable FPS in red alert 3 with medium graphics details at an ok resolution.. This video card isnt that bad, it is just a laptop.. If you want to game you really need a desktop... As for omega drivers.. That is a no go.. notice i use Vista not xp...
