    i was playing wow on my brothers aspire 5102, and it was choppy and lagging like hell. his aspire has a radeon xpress 1100. if i were to play it on a c90 or so, the game would run incredibly smooth, right?

    Yes, a much more powerful gpu will give better performance.

    But I don't get why Wow runs choppy on that computer. I have the exact same machine with a 1.6GHz TuX2 and I run the game at 1280*800 medium settings very smoothly. Only rarely do I get some minor slowdowns when there's a lot of crap going on, but 90% of the time it is smooth as butter at those settings.
