    Hi Guys

New to forum but have read quite a bit of it and liked it, so joined!

This is a question about the performance of my newly bought Dell Inspiron 1501 with above mentioned GPU compared to my old desktop.
    Notebook spec is - Tuion 64 X2 TL-56 1.8Ghz, Radeon Xpress 128MB, 2GB RAM and Vista Business.
Desktop spec was - Celeron 2.2Ghz, Radeon 9550SE 128MB, 512KB RAM and XP Pro.

Now although my notebook is mainly a work computer i do like to play a few games on it, my faves being the EA Sports sims. What i am unable to understand is that my old desktop was able to play, for example, FIFA 06, much more smoothly than the new notebook!
Is it purely down to the GPU? Vista? a combination? I can't believe my old computer is more powerful than this new one!
If someone out there has any suggestions i would be happy to hear them.

    Thanks.

    My dad has one

Are you on the battery? Because Dell's software make the CPU always run at 700mhz on the battery, and at this speed it probably doesnt reach minimum requierement.

The card should be a bit weaker than the 9550 though

You cannot compare an integrated gpu and a dedicated gpu. Even tho the xpress 1150 is much newer than the 9550, it is much weaker.

    Thanks guys!

I didn't expect the GPU to be a world beater, but thought it would beat my old computer!
It does run on the battery quite often, so i will keep that info in mind.

    Cheers.
