Rage new purchase incentive detailed - News at GameSpot

I can't believe how far publishers and devs go to make DRM for used games. Seriously. Part of the "difference" by owning a console is the ability to share games, sell them or buy used cheaper.

PC gaming has slowly been seeing these "Online alwasy" DRM or the use of propietary services, but now blocked content?

    Rage makes me rage

While added DRM to restrict used copies is lame, i dont really hate it that much.

I tend to get my games fresh anyways, either day 1 purchase or wait for price drop or sale.
Dont really save that much cash on used copies here in Norway anyways.

Guess its a good thing Wii has subpar online capabilities and no game updates, restricting games from containing DRM like this. ;3
(I kid, i love my Wii)

From a practical perspective it is nothing new. For example: EA has been doing it for its Bioware releases (ME, ME2, DA:O) in the form of 'free DLC' (blocked content). The question, which the article didn't address is whether there will be an option to buy this locked content.

But even that I don't buy used games, I feel bad on how companies are trying to screw customers rights in the name of 'better experience'. I simply don't buy such lame excuses.

Is there any point into buying used Pc games.
Probably even if they will be cheap, rage will have some sort of online pass that will cost 10$.
So let's suppose you pay the used boxed version 20$, + 10$ of pass, 30$. With shipping if is over eBay as an example.
Prolly you'll find better deals with key retailers such g2play or steam.
As long as they don't require permanent online connection I'm fine with it.

The point is that if you didn't have to use the key or whatever they're proposing then it would be cheaper, just like buying used console games is cheaper.

I can understand charging extra for a new retail key if you want to play online but the single player? That's actually a bit too much in my opinion ._.
