Folks, This is somewhat embarrassing so bear with me. I bought this game for the XBox 360 but simply cannot get used to a FPS using a gamepad. So I bit the bullet and bought it for PC.
The problem is this. I can't figure out how to get out of the helicopter at the very start of the game using the fast rope. The manual is no help whatsoever. Can anyone help as I am dying to get into this game!
Thanks in advance.

Seems like they really messed up the training for rainbows, seeing how they are afraid of heights.
(joking)
Pressing space bar should let you fast rope down. -
Geez this is annoying!
BTW, I have a Logitech G15 keyboard but I'm using the default profile. When I go into the game settings, the game recognizes the keys when I change them so I don't think its is a hardware problem. -
Make sure you're looking directly at the fastrope - on the screen it should say Fast Rope and you can press space to do so.
If that doesn't work, then ... ?? No clue. Check the controls. I've got it on my computer and that works fine. -

Hey Bossy, mind posting the specs of the system you're playing the game on?

Can you get highest setting with the 8800?
-
Looks like it would run fairly well though.
Running Vista Home Premium as well. Re-installing now....... -

How much shared and dedicated VRAM are you using?
-
I cannot explain why I had to re-install the game but I'm down the fast rope and shooting everything in sight.
Thanks for the assist bro. -

Since you have the game for the X360 and PC as well I was wondering, have you tried putting the PC Vegas on the TV you use to play the X360 version? I tried this and for some reason the PC version looked much better even on medium settings (as I'm using an 8600M GT); it looked like there were less jagged edges and more textures and it even ran smoother. However, I was under the impression the X360 version was supposed to be much better?

you have more control over settings with the pc version (especially if you count the .ini file)
if you are running in 640x480 (regular tv) you have the option to tick up the anti aliasing and texture filtering, whereas you do not have that option with the xbox as far as i know.
as far as running better, who knows. depends on your graphics card and driver i guess. i would be pretty surprised if it was really running faster on an 8600m gt on windows than an xbox 360, only because the windows port is so shoddy. -

i dont know, thats pretty interesting.
the signs are pretty apparent that its a bad port.
things like only a very few 4:3 resolution options and almost no in game setting controls just scream it.
you have to wonder how much time they spent with optimizing this game and the pc. whats really weird is that the xbox / ps3 versions run in widescreen anyway?!?!
as far as frames per second, its hard to tell. i would love 40 frames per second on that game (in mexico) and i have yet to discover how the frames per second will be affected in vegas.
as far as i can tell, performance doesn't scale right with resolution. anything 1440x900 or under seems to play about the same with me. thats a pretty heavy sign of a bad port. possible that it could be fixed with patches. who knows. -
The PC game isn't bad from the hour or so I played it last night. My monitor is a Dell 2001FP (1600x1200, no widescreen) and I thought it looked sharp. The forums for the game pretty much lead you to believe the game is in serious need of another major patch (due this week). I had no problems with anything while playing but I just got into the game. -
How is this game?
-
Also, the resolution doesn't seem to make as much of an impact, if even any, in FPS than the actual graphics settings which really do.
