I'm thinking of buying this game for the PC, used. Are there any spore-like copyright protections that would keep me from being able to play a used copy?
Not so much concerned with online but I'd like to play just singleplayer.

There is just the generic CD disc check (Safedisc V4). Nothing intrusive.
-
Or just buy it from Direct2Drive for $10.

I just did...I have it for PS3 but wanted it mobile too

It's a pretty good game, not to mention it runs very very well on PC hardware. I run it in flatout maximum specs on my lappy, and I still get 60 fps.

I just bought this game at Target on clearance for 4 bucks, have yet to try it on my laptop though. But me and my friend beat the game on his ps3 already.

Wonder if it runs better than R6Vegas on PC? haha.
I like having the physical media. I figure if I can get a game for $10 to my door it will keep my gaming needs busy for quite a while.
Looks like I'll go ahead and order it. -
Does R6 vegas really run that much better than the first? I remember back when that came out I had to run it in 800x600 with most settings on minimum just to be "playable" on my X1950XTX desktop.. it was really bad. I never even looked at the 2nd because of that reason.

R6V2 runs very well, at least on unified shader GPUs.
-
steady 30-45 FPS on specs below maxed with 2x AA at 1280x800

It's a true UE3.0 game this time around, so the efficiency is definitly there. The first was using UE2.5 if I remember right.
