Wow!
How are you rating his laptop? Is it possible to rate his laptop, when you do not know what his needs are?
That laptop has very good components and would serve someone who is a casual gamer, student, stay at home mom or even the office freak very well.
Based on needs it could be anything?
if it's what you want 10, if it were mine it would be a 7 possibly 8 since it almost has the same specifications as my Elitebook.

Sweet. I was hoping someone would say that. This is why I smell BS:
- Original poster asks for a forum-member rating of his laptop. He posts specs in this post.
- Someone tells the original poster that he has a better toy than the OP. OP gets offended and very defensive in this post.
The the OP goes off into hypocrisy-land in this post:
- "I never asked anyone to come in and tell me how much more powerful their laptop is as opposed to mine"
You didn't explicitly ask, but implied it when you asked for a rating. What else is a rating to be used for except to compare?
- "so you really have no point in saying all this"
Yes, he does. He also wants to feel like he's got the best toy on the playground, just like you do.
- "I asked for people to rate my laptop, and that's what is supposed to happen."
/cry. People on an internet forum aren't doing what you want them to do. /cry
- "I am really not interested in how good your laptop is"
I bet you'd be VERY interested if someone had said "Oh, WOW! Your laptop is AWESOME! Mine is crap compared to yours! I wish I had YOUR laptop, because it's the best!". I bet your reaction would be totally different if that was the case.
- "my current laptop lives up to my expectations: it can run anything I want, on any settings I want, end of story :|"
Then why make the forum thread? It sounds like you're trying to convince yourself, and not everyone else.
He also doesn't seem to know that Core 2 Duo CPU's don't have Turbo Boost, despite posting it here, and here. This may be an honest mistake, as the OP may have confused "Turbo Boost" with "overclocking" capabilities. But anyone who knows their computer tech would know the difference.
Then after feeling a bit bashed that he doesn't have the best laptop, he asks people to rate his "friend's" laptop in this post here. I put "friend" in quotations because he brings up the topic after:
- The OP is ostensibly upset that someone said that his laptop is faster.
- He now has a "friend", who can now take all of the insults and general internet-user-rottenness that the OP got earlier.
- Why is HE posting for his "friend", instead of the friend just creating an account and posting for him/herself?
- His "friend" just coincidentally appears to have some of the most powerful mobile gaming components available, unless you have done your homework. The GeForce 360M is overshadowed by dual-GPU solutions like Crossfire and SLI notebooks. This is something that most people wouldn't know, unless they are hardcore techies.
On the surface, there's nothing wrong with mentioning his "friend". Combine it with my suspicion that he just wants someone to tell him that he's got the best toys, and that he doesn't really know his computer tech as well as he thinks he does, and I smell BS.
Oh, and my favorite post was this one here:
- "I don't waste my time with people like you who play sarcastic with someone asking a question."
Except for the part where you did take the time to post in response to some stranger on the internet with some not-nice things to say you.

OP is asking people to rate his laptop. He did not state any criteria to base this score on. Therefore, it's up to the readers to base the score on whatever they perceive as an important aspect of a laptop. I based it on pure performance as previously stated.

Close this thread. There's really no purpose to it.

Right, time to close this one up. Thread gone just a "tad" off topic.
