Ok, thought it would be fun to rate the last game you played, and maybe spark some interest from others who might not have ever played that game before. Nothing specific, just mention the game you played, how far you got, and what you'd rate it to that point.
NO SPOILERS PLEASE!
For me it is Batman Arkham Asylum. I'm probably only about 20% into it, but it is a fun action game. Great if you're into the whole Batman universe too.
To this point I would give it a solid B+ rating. I think the controls can be a little too off, and it leads you on almost too easy, not figuring things out on your own too much.

Modern Warfare 2.
Campaign, not Multi Player.
Completed 100%.
Amazing game, story gets you wrapped up in the game, especially if you played the first one. Ending definitely leaves something to be desired.
I would rate it an A. An awesome pick for anyone who loves FPS's. -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
MW2...
i would rate the single player and online experiences separately.
Single Player = B+
It was awesome, but short, like CoD4. However, it was kind of a let down from CoD4 because that game was SO epic, and MW2 was hard to follow, didn't really make sense, and tried to be a lot deeper than it really was, and was just totally out in left field in general as far as the plot.
CoD4 was neatly wrapped with a bow, and MW2 didn't quite meet that standard.
Online Experience: A+
Not only is the main multiplayer game epic and wonderful and deep(can't compare it to CoD4 since i never played that)
you also get Coop mode, which is icing on the cake. That really seals the deal. The coop missions are AWESOME. -
Sorry, another Modern Warfare 2 here haha.
I rate the single player aspect of the game at an A.
Although the story was short, it did indeed suck me in and kept me playing through it until I eventually beat it. It was action packed in my opinion. The only thing keeping it from a perfect score is the fact that their were parts of the story that did not make sense.
For the multiplayer aspect, I rate it at an A-.
Despite all the negative news against IW and having no dedicated servers, I really enjoy multiplayer more than Modern Warfare. It is quick to log in, search for a game and start playing right away. What drops the rating a bit here is sometimes the servers are really laggy and often times you find the game migrating to a new host which pauses the game. The special op missions are really fun as well! -
-
My last game is...you guessed it...Modern Warfare 2. I think masterchef's ratings are spot on, actually. Single player is excellent, but not quite to the level of CoD4's. Multiplayer is mad fun, even without dedicated servers. I guess I'd give it an A- because reconnecting after a host migration sometimes results in a timeout.
For the sake of some variety, Left 4 Dead 2. I give the game an A overall. It's everything I loved about L4D, but with more. More weapons, more zombies, more game modes, more AI Director features...campaigns are wicked fun alone, and even better with friends. The competitive multiplayer modes, Versus and Scavenge, are awesome as well. -
MW2.
I havent played SP yet, but MP is fun. My online community will not be playing it competitively, of course, because their is no /record, because their is no console.
That being said it is pretty fun, though it really is far too easy to rack up nuke kills. I have 25 nuke kills already and I dont even camp, but because the killstreak rewards are glitched -- I wont say the right order to get an easy nuke.
Their is zero competitive aspect to this game, so it will surely be dead in 6 months, especially when VAC stops updating its anti-cheat because the game has died. I give it a 7.5. -
MW2
SP- B
It's fast-paced, like a summer action blockbuster, but it just leaves something to be desired.
MP- A
Took what was good about the last one and made it better. More weapons, perks, etc. -
You guessed it...Modern Warfare 2 of course.
SP:
A
Great game, lots of different locations, storyline was excellent, soundtrack was excellent, and some of the scenes were pretty damn epic. I don't think I'll forget being in front of The White House anytime soon, with the soundtrack epically conveying that sense of hopelessness and sadness. Another memorable moment was at the estate, where you all know what happens. At the end that soundtrack was amazing, so sad.
MP
N/A
I haven't played enough of MP to give it a rating.
Stellar game overall, worth every cent of the $50 AUD I payed for it. -
Must... break... Modern... Warfare... 2... chain...
It's been a while since I placed any FPS (and my reaction time and hand-eye coordination have probably suffered because of it to the point that I would only embarrass myself if I tried MP now) ever since I started playing RPG and RTS games about 4 yrs back. My most recent:
Fallout 3 (now with first 4 DLCs)
My Rating Overall: 90% (Note: Not an average of sub-scores)
Gameplay: 92%
Fun Experienced (w/ mods): 95%
Stability: 80%
Story: 88%
This game has sucked up so much of my life since it first came out, I might have spent more time in the Fallout world than Oblivion (which I also still play). Just like Oblivion, the vanilla game presents an excellent framework for the near-infinite amount of mods that have been created. With mods, these two games were simply amazing to behold both visually and in gameplay. The only thing really holding FO3 back was/is the technical bugs that were and (for a small few) still are affecting some, including on occasion me, though these CTDs have become few and far in between since I pinpointed most of my crashes down to the custom radio mod I had installed. It appears the game engine is just not accustomed to handling Mp3 files of greater than 128 kbps. Ever since then, I've been strolling around post-apocalyptic D.C. as a Terminator endoskeleton suited up in Dawn of War armor wielding everything from a nuclear minigun and a Tau rail rifle to a dual lightsaber. How I love going on the war path...
I'm really a peaceful person. Really, I swear... -
Left 4 Dead 2
Rating A-
Currently I've done 4/5 of the campaigns, the first three I've done twice however the second time through campaign #3 was a complete and total nightmare. Both times on the same difficulty but the first time we breezed through it. -

Mirror's Edge
I've kinda backlashed on pure "scores". But I will mention it's definitely worth playing simply because it's so unique. The graphics are very nice and eye popping with a focus on pure colors with lots of white. Not many games seem to take such a direction and its a delight to view in the case of Mirror's Edge. There is a large focus on ambiance, especially during parts of the game taking place indoors. Gameplay itself focuses on the navigation of the game with very little combat. Sure it's unusual for a first person game these days, but that adds to how unique it really is. Controls are not frustrating, though determining when to hit a certain button can be, though the game itself is more difficult during the combat scenes, not during the parkour/free-running like gameplay. I think my only bad opinions for the game come from the strange methodology of the cutscenes - Flash-like animated scenes, the length of the game which clocks in at about 6 or so hours, the strange pacing at times (you can usually "feel" how far into a game you are, or how close to the end you are), and the lack of multiplayer which isn't a big deal considering the game is focused on the single player's experience navigating the levels. If the game focused more on gunplay and combat, then I'd be more pressed to want an MP component.
So yes, if you can get it for cheap then Mirror's Edge is certainly worth picking up. I say cheap because when it released almost a year ago for $50, I'd consider that expensive for what you are getting had I already played and beaten it. Even for non-gamers or people who study color/design I'd recommend trying the game out simply because of it's excellence in that regard. Mirror's Edge is one of those new experiences you rarely get in a heavy game market that focuses too much on water-cooler moments, extreme violence, and cliche antics. It's a fresh, beautiful, palate-cleansing sort of title that I think many of us should try. -
Well, its not CoD:MW2 but Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. (PS3)
The single player easily qualifies for a A or even A+. xD
Great story and stunning graphics keeps you from getting bored.
Havent tried the multiplayer part yet but i bet its awesome too. -
Borderlands
A
Best Diablo 'clone' yet...but the FPS makes it so much more than a clone...still get that giddy feeling when you find an Orange sniper rifle, but the sniper rifle is much more up-close (or not so close when you're off the RMB) and personal in first person...
Great setting, too...some will be put off by the stylized graphics and tongue-in-cheek humor, but I love it...
First game that I played in a long time that never really go monotonous...never felt like I was 'grinding'... -
Modern ... Wargames carry the presence of "the samness", nothing new. In 2025 Modern warfare 6 will be just as same as any other CoD game out there, only with better graphics.
Last game for me would be Assassin's Creed 2.
The storyline is quite good, I didn't complete the first Creed because it seemed kindda dull to me, but this one got my attention. Good graphics, physics and actions are breathtaking. The variety of options and tactics is amazing, before you make your kill you have to plan in advance how to move in, otherwise the gameplay turns into simple slash'n'dash style. -
MW2.. Single player 100% but a little short ... more would do..
Multiplayer: 75%... IW Net is irritating with my lousy internet
Spec Ops : 90% : Basically parts of some maps but hard...need 2 ppl to play to succeed... -
Dragon Age Origins, 90% (not completed it once yet, 70+ hours in it)
Left 4 Dead 2: 80% (I did various online games, it's fun in-between things)
World of Warcraft: 80% (I've been playing it since the US and EU betas) -
Last game was UT2004 InstaGib (single shot kill) on a private lanparty last week - rating A++ (havent had this much gaming fun in a long time).
-
Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars: 85% - Still fun especially with friends. Had some slight firewall problems attempting to LAN but works flawlessly when you get it to work
Dawn of War 2: 80% - Managed to LAN with friend but apparently it's too... Heavy on the GPU that one of my friend can't play it without stuttering >:[ -

Forza Motorsport 3 on the Xbox 360.
I give it an A+ overall: A for graphics, A++ for physics, A for sound, A+ in multiplayer and a D- for story...
With the official steering wheel, it is easily the most fun I've ever had with a racing game. -
Far Cry 2
I picked it up for $5.00 at Best Buy (black friday) A+ price
GTA meets Africa mixed with Mercenaries B+ gameplay
havent played online yet if there are any servers to play on anyways
I really have enjoyed playing this game -
Dragon Age: Origins
B+
I would have liked some more action-game style combat, but otherwise it's an amazing rpg. What it really lost points for was that it has some balance problems you need to get mods to fix, and the way the DLC is just a method to punish/milk money out of people who get the game second hand. And it's a pain actually getting the DLC to unlock in the first place. -
Uncharted Drake's Fortune (PS3)
A-
Great action, puzzles that aren't too complicated, fantastic voice acting, and not overly long. Got the game bundled with my free PS3 and I was really surprised just how good the game was. Now Uncharted 2 is on deck after I finish Bioshock on the 360. -
Battlestations: Pacific
Loved Midway, and this is even better. It has some strategy/tactical elements, along with some great action... love blowing up those big ships, looks nice too. Choice of fighters, bombers, submarines, ships, land artillery.... really a fun game. Not hardcore sim by any means, but slightly bigger picture with great action. -
Kade Storm The Devil's Advocate
Call of Duty 4 - Very, uh. . . can't find the appropriate term. . . blockbuster? Grade: A.
Killzone 2 - Same as above but a little more flashy with the lighting. Grade: A+. -

Empire: Total War
Grade: B+
The problem is the multi player, you can only play against people in your steam download area...and no one plays the game in New Zealand. I got to keep on changing between the various Australia download regions and restart the game to find a match.
Other than that is high addictive and it can easily consume an evening if not that whole night. Oh and it hates on recent Nvidia drivers.
