Having real difficulties modding the inf for my new 980M.

Can anymore shed light on how this is done. It was super easy with the 680M.

Now I cannot find the necessary information anywhere to mod the inf for the 980M.

    Thanks!

I´m a bit lost here, why do you need a modded inf at all, because you´ve upgraded an older AW?

If I try to install a normal driver I simply get a message saying neither my OS nor my GPU is compatible. Also I couldn't download from laptopvideo2go. Kept getting internal error message.

I simply modded the inf myself after finding a video on youtube showing the needed lines for the 980M to work. The problem was my old guide I used to use is too old and doesn't have the information for the 980M listed so I was stuck.

Please share this video, I`m currently trying to do the same for 970M and 8770w - maybe it will help me too.
Also, how to download moded newest inf from laptopvideo2go, I see only post about it without any link - need account there or what?

It is FAR easier to simply download a driver direct from NVidia an then edit the inf file yourself. When I have time I can edit this post with the 970M ID and then you can do it in seconds.

    Try this:

You need to install drivers using modded .inf file from laptopvideo2go.com. It's not very difficult:
    1. Go to laptopvideo2go.com
    2. Click "Drivers" tab
    3. Go to Device Manager -> Display Adapters -> "Properties" of any GTX980M -> "Details" tab
    4. Select "Hardware Ids" from the drop-down menu
    5. Copy required values from "Hardware Ids" to laptopvideo2go "Search terms" field
    6. Set other search parameters at laptopvideo2go, as desired
    7. Click on "Filter"
    8. Download latest modded .inf file from laptopvideo2go.com and the latest NVidia driver
    9. Unpack the driver
    10. Copy (or replace) the modded .inf file into the folder, where you unpacked the driver
    11. Run the driver installer
    12. Reboot
    13. Enjoy :)

You should download drivers directly from NVidia. You only need the .inf file from laptopvideo2go.com
