Hi. I am having problems with my game - Oblivion (The Elder Scrolls IV). The game runs smoothly on my computer. It is just that it randomly freezes (keyboard and mouse locks up) every 5 minutes or so. Can anyone help me? Is there a solution? I would really appreciate anyone's help. Thanks!

I do have all patches up to date. Do you have a link for the unofficial patch? Also, I did some more research and it seems that it has to do with the audio codec. How can I fix it? Thanks again!!!

"I solved my keyboard/mouse lockup by deleting all the sub-folders within the "music" folder of the "data" folder within the "oblivion" folder. I move the music, and played Oblivion successfully, then put the music back, and it locked after 5 minutes, then deleted the music and I have played for the last hour without incident."

Where do I look for these folders?

Can you please specify? I went to the Oblivion Folder and there are several data folders - none of which have anything to do with music.

This is REALLY annoying. I bought a NEW game and it doesn't work properly. I am tired of pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete all the time, every 5 minutes! Can anyone who has this game help me? Thank you so much!

Lol. This guy really wants to play Oblivion (3 consecutive posts within half an hour...both times).
It seems you've got the answer you were looking for. Unless someone else on here has Oblivion running, you should try googling for the directory.
