    Hi,

Wonder if you overclock your Go 7400 and why? Also on the noobish side: how?

    Thanks...

I have overclocked my Go 7400 for better gameplay, and I do notice an increase in performance. There are software utilities available for overclocking a GPU. I use NVTweak. RivaTuner is another one.

The reason one would overclock a GPU is to get higher performance. I do not own a Go7400 and thus have not tried overclocking it, but I imagine that the performance increase would not be significant.

If you are happy with the way your games run on stock settings, then do not bother with overclocking; it is taking an unnecessary risk.

Overclock that GPU only if you find its just not putting out as much as you would like in a game. But be careful when overclocking, you could damage your hardware. Only increase the mem/core buy 15-25mhz, each time test the new setting on 3DMark-05 to check for artifacts or pixels going nuts. When that happens just drop your settings down 15-25mhz and all will be good.

Before overclock, I can only play Need For Speed Carbon @ 800x600 mid setting.
After overclock, now I can play @ 1024x768 HIGH setting.

I have a 7400 on my xps m1210. i usually dont overclock it unless i am gaming. i have seen significant differences in gaming when overclocking. there is a program to download called coolbits, after download and installation you should be able to overclock your video card.

Anyone care to post how the overclocking of your 7400 increased your 3dmark scores?

That's impressive. But I still believe that if the 7400Go was 128 bits instead of 64 bits it would easily brake the 2100-2200 3dmark05 barrier at stock.

the 7400go is a "thin and light" video card. If it was 128 bit, then there could be a heat problem
