So I placed an order on the Clevo M570RU, with a 7950GTX. It's gonna be 8 times more vRAM than I've handled, a load more pixel pipelines, just everything better than I've dreamt of.

I need some game recommendations. Right now I have Oblivion and Rainbow Six: Vegas ready to install when it comes. Any other games any good?

Wait a minute your sig says 7900 GTX, which is it? (Not like theres a huge difference). Two worlds isn't out yet. And I recommend BF2142 and MEdieval 2 total war

Company of Heroes, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, F.E.A.R., Half-Life 2, Quake 4, Supreme Commander, Rainbow Six Vegas, Lost Planet, Call of Juarez.....I could go on forever.

if you had a geforce 3 or something, prepare for a shock. it is going to be fast.

i would go ahead and make a mental note to buy ut3 and crysis when they are released.

don't let rainbow six vegas disappoint you. its ok. you will see. decent game, bad port. same of oblivion actually, although that game has garnered significantly more popularity.

get half life 2, battlefield 2142, counter strike source, FEAR, quake 4, doom 3. that should start you off...

BF2142 (Very fun if your in a good squad with VOIP, use teamwork!!!).

CS:S (Slightly tactical run and gun where run one shot head shot deaths run rampant).

Battlefield 2 (Great fun, squadded up or not, plenty of great mods).

oh yeah- buy valve's orange box coming in a month or two. that will have a lot of good games.

the complete half life 2 series, portal, team fortress 2.

by the time you have exhausted those; its possible that the black mesa mod will be available. that will probably cause quite the stir.

Does anyone know a game where you are completely free to do what you want? A bit like GTA but with more things to do... Preferably a non-fantasy game (like Oblivion)

My bad on the sig. It's 7950GTX. I'll edit that. Thanks for pointing it out. And MasterChief, I had a GeForce 4 low-end. Ti 4200 64mb. Mmmm. And Thomas1989, a game is coming in 2009 (might be pushed back to 2010) where you just evolve creatures. Google Video: Spore.

    america's army

    FEAR: combat

Thomas: a good open-ended game would be STALKER. Or so I've heard.

This is my list of games, to give you an idea of what I like, and to build upon:

    -- American McGee's Alice
    -- American McGee's Scrapland
    -- Call of Duty 2
    -- Battlefield 1942 Total Set
-- Battlefield Vietnam (came with set)
    -- Onimusha 3
-- The Suffering: Ties That Bind
-- Half Life 2, incl. DM, CSS

EDIT: What surprises me is that according to Xfire, people put in more minutes to CoD2 MP than BF2. And BF2 is strictly a MP game. And that really surprises me. Surprise!

LOL.. I have a Geforce 4 TI 4200 as well. :D I OC'ed it to 4600 speed... gotta love these old cards. Its still running after being put into a AMD Athlon XP 2000+ system I built about 5-6 years ago. I gave it to my little sis, shes mainly playing FFXI Online with it... and Red Alert 2 (of which I cannot win her at).

I greatly recommend Rome: Total War and Medieval 2: Total War and their expansions. You will lose months playing them and all the dozens of mods available for each @_@

The upcoming Assassin's Creed seem Awesome and Ubisoft boasts that any object that stands out more than two inches will be interactive. It's slated for a november release though.

considering i live in NYC... GTA IV: NY will have my Dorm-rooms in it!!! maybe i'll be able to go into my building in the game, but besides that:
HL2, and all future episodes, FEAR, Doom3, Starcraft2!!, Crysis, and gfx look rele cool on racing games like NFS, look into those cuz you can build your own car and it looks so real... this is gonna be a year of GAMING BABBYYY!

Hah, my teacher was talking about that. He was like "After grading your crappy papers, I just felt like blowing some hookers' heads off. And then I stole a couple of cars and had tons of ***."

Yeah, the GTAs are good for PC. Especially with a controller.
