What graphics card do you have? If its the Intel GMA 950, you are doomed to watching Half-life 2 in a slideshow format.

Escape Velocity. I don't think that even uses GPU if you have it. But still very fun.

What GPU? I think an intel 940 to 950 will run Half-life 1 mods well, so you've got your Team Fortress, CS, Natural Selection, etc. Oddly enough, the X3100 runs HL 1 really badly, but runs HL 2 well.

Seconded on Escape Velocity, you could also play EV: Override, EV: Nova, and Bolo ;)

Well, on an x86 PC, you have to play Nova, as the others (as far as I know) are Mac only. Nova rocks anyway though.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 gets my vote, Warcraft 3 should also play fine on integrated graphics worse than the GMA950.

Try nexuiz, that's pretty un-demanding (on low settings); and free. http://www.alientrap.org/nexuiz/
It's a good multiplayer 3d game, based on the Darkplaces engine, a modified Quake engine.
Another suggestion would be operation flashpoint, which has still not died after 7 years- with mod's still being developed. Once modded with the FFUR 2007 mod, you'll get quite a good shooter which still has a strong community.
Other than that, I will simply have to repeat what the above posters have said.

CS:CZ runs good on my integrated gma900, so does MOH: Warchest, runs HL2 at about 15fps if you tweak the gma options and that's on 1.73ghz PM, 512mb Ram @ 800x600 or 640x480 or something like that...

Also, try FlightGear, another great GNU open-source game which runs well on integrated graphics. http://www.flightgear.org
. Its a nice flight sim, with a strong community and development team. The Paris scenery rivals that from MS and Justflight VFR, whilst some of the aircraft are unbelievably detailed.

Age of Empires 3 (if shaders are put in the lowest setting, this game should have a playable framerate)

    Brain Challenge
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain_Challenge

    Megaman X8
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megaman_x8

    RollerCoaster Tycoon 3
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rollercoaster_tycoon_3

Spore (I haven't tried the full version but the demo works fine)

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jedi_Outcast
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Jedi_Knight:_Jedi_Academy
(Fun singleplayer and multiplayer - which could be played with bots of various difficulty)

Note: My card is an ATI Radeon Xpress 200m. I use the latest version of the drivers provided by ATI (Catalyst Drivers) rather than my notebook manufacturer's provided drivers as ATI's drivers are regularly updated. I use the Mobility Modder program to allow ATI's driver to install:
