    Hi all,

I'm about to come into some gaming performance goodness and I'm looking for a game recommendation. It's been about a year since I last touched a game (just too busy) and even then I was playing outdated games like "Rainbow 6: Raven Shield" and its expansions. I'm into "realistic" military FPS games that take place in current time, no sci-fi stuff. By "realistic" I mean realistic weapons and damage modelling, story line etc.

    :hardfind: Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Vlad

P.S. I didn't enjoy Ghost Recon too much.

Battlefield 2 has AMAZING multiplayer. The game keeps track of all of your stats, and promotes you based on your skills (i.e. Paratrooper award, etc.)
Also, the use of vehicles as well as every other wartime strategy makes this game amazing.

But, from what I understand, the single player is all run and gun. There is no story (I'm not positive about that).

I'm a little worried about single player too. I've seen the videos for BF2, they look really cool although it looks like they didn't place much emphasis on making the weapon selection as detailed or as large as did Rainbow 6 for example.

Some details are kind of anoying like no F-16 for US side and no Su-27/35 for the Middle East Coallition. The Mig-29 isn't meant to take on F-15s. The plot is kinda screwy too: Middle Eastern forces armed with Russian weapons fighting with Chinese & US in one country :S

In that sense it feels a bit more like an "arcade" multiplayer FPS but then again I haven't played the demo yet.

Swat 4 is probably the best combat simulation you can find outside of anything Tom Clancy. It is pretty difficult and changes thing up from most games by giving you the option to capture and cuff your enemies instead of just killing everything. The multiplayer is also above par.
There is nothing more humiliating than being cuffed by some guy named "Stoner420" online.
