Recommend a good modern warfare RTS game with good online features with people still playing

Just like my title says and I don't want any WW2 games.

 

Most of the RTS games nowadays are based on WW2 sadly Company of Heroes is one of the WW2 games which doesn't suck

Not sure about any other modern warfare games though :/ Dawn of War 2 is a bit too modern

World in Conflict or End War?

 

well i already played DoW2 and EndWar. I ve been looking at World in conflict but didn't know if people still played it. Do people still play it/?

 

Supreme Commander 2?

 

nah i heard bad things about Supreme Commander 2. Anyways my mom said tht i can get WiC if iwant to since its 20$ for both the expansion and the original on steam. So my question is, do lots of people still play it??

 

some people still play it, for sure. i find the game kind of strange though, it's not a normal RTS. you control like 6 units at a time...

 

Highly doubt many people are still playing it :/ It's quite an old game and people probably moved on to End War already instead of sticking to WiC

 

well its the only option that im left with I already played EndWar and WiC looks really good to me. I dont mind SOME people playing online. I just hope i can find a game online

 

WiC is brilliant, and the online is still active but even then the SP is pretty amazing.

Despite some of the bad press for C&C 4, I think the spawn mode 5 v 5 online play looks fun. Not that I've tried it, looks fun though.

 

oh man, good choice with World in Conflict! Definitely an awesome game and the single-player missions are wicked; it was one of those games I couldn't stop playing until it was over. There are still enough people who play online that you will easily be able to find some decently populated servers out there.

As a matter of fact, I think I'm going to go play some WiC right now!

 

there are several good servers running in WiC. One of my personal favorite games. It is much more tactical and in-depth than base-building RTS games.

 

sorry, forgot to add, in my opinion it's the perfect modern warfare RTS: it's highly realistic as you will find out, and the units are all actual vehicles/units you would find in today's armies. The tactical strikes are all realistic as well, and the graphics are brilliant

 

finally a Modern RTS game i just got off playing online and i really liked it but wahts with these server lags?

 

Relic ruined Company of Heroes.... try Dawn of War II (2).

Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising was just released for $30, and I believe the pack containing the original and Chaos Rising is only $40. Excellent games, the main aspect of the game is multiplayer. Have a look into it.

 

Well I purchased it when it first came out, when it was just Americans vs Wehr, the gameplay was terrific. The Americans were offensive and fast paced, the Wehr defensive and slower paced, but the difference wasn't too big.

Then they introduced the expansion with the Brits and Panzer Elite, which threw off the gameplay. The Panzer Elite play too fast and the brits play too slow.

Players with the PE or Brits either rush right away (PE) or camp for hours (Brits).

Vanilla Coh was the best.

Sounds like your just whinging about having to change tactics.

I played CoH from when it was just the 2 armies and still enjoy it. Although i get annoyed with spams (pio spam on wehr and roo spam with brits).

 

I don't like the change of tactics? Sure, it's rush or camp.

Define rush? the whole point of the game is to rush. If your not actively declining oposing resource points and seeking to upgrade quick enough for an advantage your camping and waiting for defeat. Automatch is played as VP for a reason and if one player is camping you'll win sooner rather than later.

even with just yanks and wehr. if yanks don't win pretty much in the first 15 minutes wehr will win. the main issues now are imbalances with vet (fair few complaints there) mainly involved with pio spam then zombie vet 3 grens. The other being that PE have a fair few imbalances making them week.

It still seems to me like your whinging. In that its "too fast" or "too slow" for your liking.

WiC is fun so far. Annoying thing is i keep getting air striked(i use infantry )

 

Agreed... Which is why I only play CoH with "Europe in Ruin" mode (it's essentially WiC game play mechanics in CoH--that is, you call units from "off map").

Makes it far more tactical when you know you can't just mass up 1000 tanks and roll over your enemy at the late game...
