I recommend my all time favorite Hidden and Dangerous 2 and it's expansion Sabre Squadron. Man I love that game and have spend countless hours on the single player alone.

It will play well on your laptop.

Gears of War, Unreal Tournament III, BF 2142, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, World of Warcraft, and I sometimes play soldat. It's a somewhat addicting online sidescroller game and you can download it for free off the internet. Hope this helps. :D

oblivion will play at max settings on 7800gtx. Gophn has already tested this on his notebook i think, as i asked him the same question. Wait for Assassin's Creed, Gears, Fury, Conan, HL2, i hate WoW...played it once and ended up wandering in a desert for 2 hrs and only fought what looked like a goblin version of santa...and lost because didn't know one of 50billion kajillion spell keys.

Yeah, it seems valve has a half-life fetish :) Half life 2 is its own game, ep. 1 and 2 are basically half-life 3, but in three seperate packages (god I cant wait for ep 3) and half-life source and deathmatch are kinda standalone upgrades to their original engines.

Some other good games are the Total War series (rome, Medieval 1,2), elder scrolls games (already mentioned) and anything by id (if you like fps game).

I recommend Morrowind as well. Even though the graphics are somewhat dated, the gameplay and storyline make up for it (if you choose to follow it at all and don't kill all the main characters hehe)

Definitely F.E.A.R. Just got the game installed and first 2 intervals made me feel... - especially when the pictures of those zombie guys keep flashing before you (like those internet screamers); the part where a guy swings at you (was it a chair or big stick?) even when you're shooting at his head definitely made me love this game. :)
