been looking at a couple of sellers (pcspecialist and overclockers uk).

Could anyone recommend other sellers? I'm hoping to buy a laptop with a 1070m gtx maximum budget around £1600 poundS

    Thanks

PCSpecialist Defiance III will be the best value option.

That's the one I'm considering buying at the moment. Although a few people have said the 6820HK CPU is really bad. That's why I wanted to see if there are any others around that price

Have a look at Obsidian-PC. They are usually very competitive in prices and have nice features as possibility of Prema BIOS, good thermal compound, etc. @John@OBSIDIAN-PC is their contact around here.

Why is the cpu bad? I have a Clevo P650RS with a 6820hk (which is the Defiance III) haven't had or heard any issues with it.

Dunno people said its not amazing for games like BF1 and is one of the worse CPUs for laptops with a 1070. You have the defiance with a 1070? What games can you run on ultra? The only reason I'm being safe is that I won't be buying another laptop for a very long time

Lol what? The 6820hk is the best laptop cpu period... Like you can't get a better cpu unless you get an even better Clevo that just has a straight up desktop cpu... Even then the 6820HK can OC to around 4GHz which almost puts it at 6700k desktop levels...

At 1080p the 1070 runs everything on ultra. I play GTA V, Titanfall 2, and lighter stuff like Overwatch at 4K. Deus Ex is probably the hardest game to run at 1080p, and it still does it quite well.

Here's BF1 gameplay with the same gpu and a crappier cpu:

Even with a "measly" 6700HQ the games working great.

That sounds really good thanks :) Sorry just passing on what I've been told as I'm pretty clueless with this stuff. So the Octane https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/octaneIII-15/ is not worth pay extra for? is the i5 and i7 6600K not much better? And did you say they are desktop CPU's?

Those are full power desktop cpus. It's better. It's up to you whether its worth it or not. If you don't plan on overclocking it may be, but I'm comfortable doing that, so I thought the 6820hk with an OC is still plenty of power and it keeps the form factor small. The P650RS is not a very bulky gaming laptop, the Octane is a P750DM2, that's much thicker. If you don't care about portability at all though it's a great machine.
