Posted in the Notebook buying section, and they told me to ask you guys.

Hello, I recently received a gift card and bought a laptop. I bought the Samsung NP700Z5C-S02UB from Best buy, and I was just looking for one for school, very light gaming, and watching movies. I bought an SSD with it and popped it in, but the screen is sub par and has left me feeling like I need to return it. I was looking at this one, Toshiba P875-S7102 because it has a fantastic screen, I just wanted to make sure it would handle my needs, or was looking for suggestions on any computers you guys would think would be better suited. I'll fill this out for any advice I can receive.

    What is your budget?
    $600-$850

What country will you be buying this in?
    United States

What size notebook do you prefer?
    15.6-17.3

Would you consider a refurbished laptop?
The Samsung was open item, but I don't really prefer it. Open to it though

What are the primary tasks you need this notebook for?
Web Browsing, School work (Office and Research), Playing High quality video files in 1080, reading books, very light gaming, listening to music occasionally, will hook up to my television via hdmi for watching videos.

What games will you be playing?
Think Minecraft being the most intensive and one I'd like to play the most, some newer games (2007 and up) on very low if ever, older games like Doom and System Shock. Nothing super intensive as I have game consoles and a pretty decent desktop. Stuff like this in between classes nothing super long or intensive at all.

Where will you be using this laptop?
At home, at university in library.

How many hours of battery life do you need?
3.5+. With my SSD and the fact that on the go I seldom do anything but documents with wi-fi off and brightness low I can squeeze more life out of it.

Will you be buying online or in store?
Best Buy either online or in store. It has to be them as that's where I got a gift card.

    Which OS do you prefer?
Windows 7, 8, whichever. Open to others.

List the screen resolutions that interest you:
    High Resolution (1920X1080)

Do you prefer a glossy or matte screen?
Have Matte on the one I'm about to return, prefer Glossy I believe.

Is the laptops design important to you?
    No.

Approximately what date will you be buying this laptop?
    Feb 16 2013

How long do you want this laptop to last?
    4 - 5 Years.

How much storage capacity do you need?
180 GB SSD will do me fine, I have an external.

Are you interested in SSD for storage?
    Purchased already.

Do you want a built-in optical drive, what type?
Doesn't matter. USB 3.0 is all I need.

Appreciate any and all input. Can't stress enough that all I really want to be able to play is minecraft, system shock, and a bunch of older games. Anything new would be on low if I did play it.
