    Hey everyone,

I wish I was able to make video games from my imagination but I can't. I'm looking for a game that's really intense, you die quickly, and you're gun feels powerful! None of that run-and-gun stuff, I want to feel like I'm scared to go out in the open... (preferably with good graphics)

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

You want to die quickly, but not in a run-and-gun?

I mean it doesn't take many bullets for you to die. In halo you just jump around and shoot, I don't like that... something really intense and realistic. There has got to be a game out there like that.

Far Cry 2. Such a beautiful game. First thing I put on my brand new M17x, ran everything on ultra high.

It's ultra realistic too. Guns jamming, injuries, cars breaking down etc. And it has two 25 square kilometre maps.

If you want an example of what this game will be like, watch the 'Blood Diamond'. Probably the number one comparison to this game.

Thanks for the suggestion, but, actually, Far Cry 2 is an example of a game I don't want...

It's great, it looks really nice, has some nice features. It takes FOREVER to kill people though, that's the one thing that turned me off... I want a game where guns actually do a realistic amount of damage, and don't feel like BB guns.

True, but to really find the game of all games is hard.

I hate it when one game does one thing right but fails at a bunch of other things, and other games follow suite.

    Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

I've played UT3, Rainbow Six Vegas, COD4, and waiting for MW2

UT3 is too unrealistic, and it does take a lot to kill people still, not at all what I'm looking for.

Rainbow Six Vegas, getting there, I find the game is sloppy though. It has lots of bugs and just feels incomplete. I also already beat both games so :p

There has to be a game though, maybe even a MOD for a game... Anyone?

if you add a little bit of twist to the gameplay style, Fallout 3 is an excellent game. there are portions of the game that definitely bring upon a 'nervous' feeling as to whether or not continue forward at full speed.

Grab Fallout 3, either set it on easy or use a mod for headshots to be realistic.

Hmmm, a game with realistic kills..like in real life? Not like in the movies where they stager back and fourth going "Ahh..ohhh"? Rather morbid eh?

I guess this is going to a tough one for game designers, realistic killing but don't make people throw up.

Actually, FC2 was a one shot head kill..if you aimed, but then again whole clips were used if you got a target that was all gristle?

You should wait for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. That should fit the bill perfectly. To be released October 6th.

That game looks pretty sick, I'll probably get it :p Thanks

I don't like Fallout 3 it's not "professional" enough shall we say. And it often takes forever to kill people still (like 5 headshots).

America's Army 2 is outdated, and AA3 is very buggy, but I haven't really gotten into them so I don't know.

Take a step back in time from Rainbow Six Vegas and try Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield (and/or Athena Sword)...not quite as many bugs...

There's also Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1 and 2...

SWAT 4 on the police front (if you get tired of military or counter-terrorism ops)...

All those games are a bit older but have similar pacing to Rainbow Six: Vegas 1 and 2 without quite as many bugs (GRAW was a bit buggy)...

Battlefield series if you're into multiplayer or don't mind playing bots...

Batman Arkham Asylum! Ultra fun to play and sneaking around is great. Bosses can be difficult. It took me 6 tries to beat Bane on normal...I'm not used to third person controls yet!

I agree with poster who suggested ARMA 2. I think this will fit what you're looking for if your computer can run it.

    HL2 mod, Insurgency.

1 sniper shot kills you even if it hits you in the leg.
    1-2 shots kill most people.
Headshots is autokill, even from pistol.
    Multiplayer mod.
Be warned it has a hard learning curve if you are used to crosshairs.

    Thanks all for the suggestions

Arma II - I have it, I think I got about half way through the campaign but it won't load anymore! (it just crashes). And it's FILLED with bugs, besides that though, it's pretty cool. I think I would like it better if there was more action and less going-places.

Insurgency: Played it, it's nice, actually pretty much what I'm looking for, only I'm "passed" it. It's boring now :p Still though, any games similar to this would be good. Good recommendation.

CoD4: Bored of it :p, I'm level 55 can't do anything else, guess I'll just have to wait for MW2

SMOD Tactical: Interesting, I'll look into it!

    Thanks guys
