Alright, now that I have a computer, I'm looking forward to some nice looking games.

    Here's what I DON'T want to play:

No first person shooter (which eliminates 80% of the new games). For some reason, aiming and shooting is very difficult for me. It's difficult physically because for some reason I always lose and just cannot point and click fast enough. I lost to computer on easy in Unreal Tournament 2004 many many times, then died many times in Rainbow Six games against computer... Mentally, pointing a gun at someone and shooting his brains out just feels weird.

No racing games if the game is just about racing (another 10%'s gone). If the game's about racing and having someone in my car shooting at other cars, that's a little better.

No Oblivion. There's TOO MUCH to do in that game, and I don't like it when I can do too much.

EDIT: No RTS based on stuff like WWI or WWII. RTS based on wars of aliens vs. humans or medieval warfare or something like that is ok (Starcraft, age of mythology, age of empires, are such are good).

    Here're the games I've played...

    Counterstrike
    Day of Defeat
Medal of Honor (not on PC)
    All Rainbow Six series
All Command and Conquer series (Tiberium Wars was decent)
    All Splinter Cell series
All Doom series (hated Doom 3)
    All Unreal Tournament series
    All Thief series
    All Civlization series
All Heroes of Might and Magic series
All Age of ____ series (empire, mythology, etc)
All Total War series (enjoyed those a lot)
All Grand Theft Auto series (enjoyed those too, looking forward to GTA4 for PC)
All Fable series (liked Lost Chapters)
All games by Blizzard (liked Diablo I and II a lot, hated WoW)
Guild Wars (hated how I could be in 20 quests at one time)
All Rollercoaster and almost all other Tycoon games
All Sims (I liked them, but starting to dislike them, they don't give me the drive like GTAs do)

    So... any suggestions?

You've ruled out all the most fun games! Why oh why?

I'd say go sign up for the 15 or so day trial with Gametap

Your bound to find hundreds of games that you'll like.

I think out of those games suggested (I've played a few of those as well, but didn't list in my first post), Dawn of War sounds the best.

I've played KOTOR as well, Deux Ex is not a new game, and Battlefield, Fear, and Far Cry are shooting games (which I don't like). Also, I didn't say I don't like Rollercoaster.

Two games you may want to consider are "Silent Hunter 4", a World War 2 submarine game where you command a US submarine and target enemy ships and convoys along Japan's coast, and KOTOR 2, which is obviously the sequel to the original KOTOR, which you mentioned you already played.

Played Pharoah for about 20 minutes... Played all Sims games, and all Blizzard games (Starcraft, Warcraft 2,3, Wow, and Diablo I and II)

Played that. Compared to Rome Total War, I think the game is horrible. It does have better graphics, but it lacks unit variation, which completely kills the game.

Played KOTOR and KOTOR 2. Will try Silent Hunter 4 because I don't like Japan either.

How about some adventure games?
Sam and Max (by TellTale games) http://www.telltalegames.com/
    Runaway (by Focus Interactive) http://www.runaway-thegame.com/
Secret of the Ark (aka Angel of Death by Adventure Company)
    http://www.dreamcatchergames.com/tac/secrets_of_the_ark/index.html

Since you liked Diablo I and II why not go for Titan Quest and its expansion (Immortal Throne). Its as good if not better than Diablo II.

If you want a good RPG:

Gothic 1 (if you can find it; it's a bit old) or Gothic 2 Gold. Gothic 3 is trash, don't get it.

They're in the vein of Morrowind, but with smaller worlds that are more detailed and interesting IMO. And, they have a better combat system (excluding 3).

I have Titan Quest, but never gotten a chance to play it. I think I'll try that... Adventure games sounds fun too as long as they don't require as much thinking as Prince of Persia games (I played PoP series too).

    Guild 2 looks interesting...

Agreed. MTW seemed boring to me, and I loved Rome Total War (I did only play the demo to be fair). I had the exact same feeling about AoE III vs AoE II and the Conquerors expansion.

Seeing from your sig that you like Clancy stuff, you might like Hitman II Blood Money. I havent played the PC version, but the console version was pretty fun and creative. You might try Supreme Commander if your rig can take it.

Well, I havent played M2TW very much, just the demo (so just a couple historical battles). I dunno, it seems like I enjoy games with more melee than gunpowder (possibly why I didnt like AOE 3 or the AOE Star Wars knock off). Plus it struck me as kinda funny seeing 40 knights riding in formation. How's the turn based portion of Medieval compared to Rome? More complex? Easier to manage? I think I enjoyed that part more than the battles.

most of the game is melee, except archers. you only get gunpowder late in the game, and even then most units are still melee.

i have to admit, i only played the demo of rome, so my opinion is not well supported :D

i don't know about the turn based of rome, so i really can't compare that.

but compared to the origonal medieval, its about 20 times better.

I also agree AoE 2 is better than AoE 3. I think time-wise, I played AoE games the most (1, 2, and 3).
As of Medieval 2 Total War, in combat, all you can do is kill. I don't mean I don't like watching my Byzantine Vanguards slaughter those Hungarian peasants, but there's nothing else I can do. In Rome Total War, I could use Screeching Women to scare off the enemy while they charge into my spear wall. I could use druids to boost my own moral... Or I could use Naked Fanatic's warcry, and other ability to boost or reduce moral/fear/etc, etc. But in M2TW, there's none of those..... Which is the biggest disappointment.

Hmmm i see that titan quest is already mentioned, but that is a really great game.

Another diablo like game is called mythos, it is made from the same people as diablo, but is currently in closed beta testing. I am one of the testers and so far it seems pretty fun. Graphic wise the characters look like WoW, gameplay it feels like diablo. When the game is complete it will be 100% free to download and play. Oh i think its a mmo too, not 100% sure yet (i've only played it for 30min so far)

i see you have played kotor, but the darkforces/jedi knight series is fun, so i think you should pickup a copy of academy or outcast and give it a try.
