u can play anygame in the market at this moment at good settings.
i would reccomend bioshock, gears of war andstarcraft 2 but it has not been relased yet. -
i would definitely recommend ut2004/ut3 (ut2004 is the better of the two in terms of gameplay, but ut3 does have better graphics)
LONG LIVE THE TOURNAMENT!! -
UT3 is pretty graphics intensive, isn't it? Will my laptop run it well?

Call of Duty 4 -

yeah your laptop will run ut3 really well. I think you will be surprised how good it looks and how fast it runs...
same with gears of war. -
shooters - cod4, crysis, bioshock, gears, halo 2, battlefield (2 or 2142 or whatever), orange box (hl2, hl2:ep1, hl2:ep2, portal, and team fortress 2), and good ol' CSS
strategy - company of heroes (original or new one), world in conflict (thats a strat game right?), and i still play lotr:bmfe2 and i find it a lot of fun still -
I mainly do FPS and adventure, but since you have a very good DX10 GPU , i`ll just go ahead and name some, without a proper separation in genres : bioshock, gears of war,cod4,ut3,half life 2 orange box, call of juarez, crysis(tweak it for better performance, there`s a lot of guides on the net),battlefield 2,company of heroes, etc etc..
These being the newer names, but anything below 2005 would probably run on high settings...
One question though, don`t you want a faster CPU ? At least a 1.8 to satisfy any hardcore gaming needs... -
let's talk about the older ones..
-mafia: an instant 3rd person shooter classic combined with driving and adventure elements, quality and variety are all over the place in this game, still one of the best games i've ever played.
-the chronicles of riddick:escape from butcher bay: one of the most underrated games in the gaming industry, too bad because this game sizzles with quality, the graphics, the voice acting and the level of the variety found in the gameplay, it's just as good as HL2, if that's any indication...
and by the way the pc versions of these games are far better than their console counterparts...so if you like action try these... -
I`d have to say Mafia was terrible from my point of view in terms of gameplay...pretty horrid control and movement...GTA series, from 3, vice city and san andreas, that`s fun!
-chronicles, hell yeah!
-other action? well...try Prince of Persia series! Legacy of Kain series : soul reaver 1, soul reaver 2, legacy of kain defiance.... these games were the ones that made me sad when I finished them because they were too damn good to end...
I could certainly go with the list, but seems to me you want to know what new games you can play.
Well, Fear, Far cry, Doom3 and quak4 should run close to high, and as I said, all games below 2005 would run on high no questions asked. -

battlefield 2142 and cod 4!

well, what about good old agent 47? just please try not to do the game the movie way
-> Hitman Blood Money
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory - it's probably last game of the sam fisher's franchise with great multiplayer and still that secret agent feel... (last two provide you with a different feel, but still it's not what it felt like before) and you can get SCCT with pandora and first game in a 3 game box set all over the game shops
thief 3 - good old intriguing title... great thing to have played
and in terms of rtses - rome total warnot that resource hungry as medieval 2 but with better graphics than medieval 1...
assassin's creed - also intriguing and all that sam fisher + tobias rieper + prince of persia puts you in the game really fastreally really exciting
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines - can't say whether it's shooter or rpg as it has both attitudes presented. yes, it's buggy, yes it might be boring, but just play as malkavian family member and you'll find lots of fun
and finally - dark messiah of might and magic - it's short, it's easy, but having the possibiity to fry, freeze, decapitate etc. plus the use of physicsgreat thing to have when you want a lot of action...
-
All good recommendations, I'm really glad to hear that this laptop will be capable of running games like COD4 and UT3.
Does anybody know if subscribing to Gametap is a good idea? The number of games they have available is pretty impressive; I was surprised to see some really quality titles like the Splinter Cell and Deus Ex games available for downloading. -
My vote goes to:
Civilization IV
Age of Empires III
Call of Duty 4
Rome Total War
Madden 2008 looks great on a laptop
Recommend some games for me! =P
