Yuup, ive had the game waay before You have to buy it, and i can still play it
m4rc, what drivers are you using? Ive found that Omega drivers dont work to well with CS Source and Half-life..
Erm, this is 100% true. I actually have some additional info. Gmod wont work with the 7.1 stock, 7.1 omega and dell stock drivers. I am trying the 6.12 now. If anyone has a reccomended version for playing gmod 10 please tell me. I keep on getting an error with some wacky numbers like 2 minutes into the game. if you reacall i had this problem with Css back in the day, but it was with the 6.11 and i would only play for 20 seconds. I resolved this by playing in dx 7. i think or something like that. (same wacky error) if my computer can unfreeze itself after the game crashes maybe I can sneak in a screenie of how terrible this error is.
Is it my card?
dell inspiron 6400, 1 gig ram, 512 X1400. No virus' lol. sp2... dual core...
is that like the ultimate death setup or something, caus my computer cant handle any steam games.

can this be a problem of over heating?
I hear the fan kick in sometimes with gmod and it freezes/crashes around that time. Will UCing do the job?
I dont wanna take any risks with the voltages or anything but i want this problem solved.
Really, i cleaned the vents out today caus i thought i might be overheating. Can i open my lappy and clean it...Is this necessary?
I wont install new drivers untill i get to the bottom of this!
thanks for the help!

It's not your hardware, it's either ATi/Omega or Valve screwing up.
-
Well, at least you have a similar setup as mine. I got rid of every thing named ATi/ omega but the drivers for my x1400. Seems as if this has done the job. Any more suggestions would be very good.

should i still try to underclock?
-
I dont know what Gmod is, but i am using Omega drivers and have an Ati card and CS:s and HL2 works on my mashine. But i had some strange error with a geforce go 5700 that after windows reinstall worked only in DX7 otherway it showed some strange error, but then after windows and drivers reistall it worked ok.

well, i got through 45 minutes of gameplay with no Ati software.
Im gonna try the 6.12s.
thanks for the help guys.
BTW that dx7 error is common on the steampowered forums, so its a known problem, if only Valve would get off their lazy arses and do something useful. -
go with 6.12

It shall be link, but take a look at the other thread, about a similar topic.
