"Soviet power supreme."
"We will crush them."
"This my friend Sam.. Uncle Sam (turtle)..... BIG Russian missiles coming, and it ducks, and it covers, ducks, covers, HAHAHAHAHA." -
I think this game and Endwar will probably be the highlights of my year.

is it me or last couple of C7C games had pretty stupid AI...the campaign really was'nt interesting enough and AI didnt pose much competition.
They need to make playable heroes like Tanya and try to make storyline a little more inetersting....Gameplay wise...they are awesome though. -
-
-
It'll probably be out by fall considering beta testing is this summer. -
But besides that I'm just revving myself up for another Red Alert franchise!
-
I dun like what i am seeing here... ea has done it again.. ruined a good franchise.. hopefully those screenies are just those fakies from china
-
A lot can change. Hell, Tiberium Wars was suppossed to be looking like this a couple of years ago.

Sure doesn't look like the game on my HDD.
The AI in C&C games was flaky sometimes. I used to use wallrushing to beat it in the original C&C. I'd lock 'em up in there own base, build up my army in peace and crush them. The AI would just wait behind the wall for me to sell it and come rolling in. RA's AI was basically the same, although wallrushing it didn't work. Most the AI did in all games was spam you and do some scripted attacks.
The coolest responses ever were from the C&C3 Mammoth Tank IMO. He sounded like a real bad ass. -
Me neither
I dont like the building design at all...or some of the units...
The unit design looks budget...
-
The game is still in development. I'll wait for the official previews.
-
True...lets hope the units doesn't look like toys by then and the building doesn't look like its from a cheapo 3D RTS...
-
I think the graphics will look more like C&C3's. Less gloomier for sure, but I think thats reasonable to assume.
I will be some time before you can pick up a copy somewhere and a lot can happen. -
I like what I'm seein. I know it will definitely look different by the time it comes out, but still it looks good to me.
-
Those aren't actual Red Alert 3 screens. Somebody on another board said it was generals modded. Look at that pic. Do you guys honestly believe a game coming out a year after CnC 3 would look that crappy?
-
It could be an early version. At any rate I doubt it will look anything like that by the time the first previews come.
I'm looking forward to Kane's Wrath. I'd like to see how they're gonna explain CABAL and everything that happened. Still I hate the whole subfaction idea. It reminds me too much of Generals. *shivers*
Generals was nice, but it wasn't derserving of the name Command & Conquer IMO. It had nothing to do with the franchise as a whole. It was just a cheap way to cash in on then current events. -
I just hope EA tries to keep the number of super powers down in RA3. How many did CNC3 have? 20 for each side? While they are fun, they can cut down on the strategy available. People just turtle until they can unleash ion cannons and mother ships. Red Alert 1's superpowers were GREAT! The Iron Curtain and Chronosphere wouldn't decimate a base at the click of a button, but required a useful strategy to get the most out of them. Even the Soviet Nuke wasn't overpowered like the weapons in CNC3.
Sadly, I feel this will fall on deaf ears.Big Booms make pretty screenshots and Gametrailer videos.
-
Ever used the NOD nuke in C&C? Boom, bye bye base. It was overpowered compared to an Ion cannon strike.
C&C3 had a lot of support powers but only the Ion Cannon and Nuke were real super weapons. A lot of the powers were stuff like sat recon, dropping infantry and vehicles somewhere on the map or some airsupport. Nothing major. The Ion Cannon and Nuke were equals when it came to blowing things up. Both wreaked a base in one good shot.
The RA superweapons sucked IMO. What good was one invincible tank? They'd just aim for the other without protection. The chronosphere sucked too. You could only teleport one unit. A cruiser was handy, but it was short lived. And if overused you got that weird vortex thingy. -
Hey Punisher, if superweapons werent enough they are adding "Epic" units to Kane's Wrath. Build one and autowin!
I'm going to laugh at whoever buys Kane's Wrath, its going the way of the dodo support wise as soon as EA gets their money. It will be BFME2: Rise of the Witch King all over again.
I am praying they don't screw-up RA3.
-
Actually, of all the C&C before generals, i usually play without Superweapons, it's more fun to crush your enemy with pure army numbers. After General, me & my friends tend to rush superweapon, (heck, i even see 10++ Superweapon on the field, all belonged to the same person..., thus we agreed on never to build more than 2 SP, unless you capture the 3rd from the enemy and launch it directly after capture), it was overkill...I like the 1 superweapon limit the best. Chrono Legionare FTW.
Yea.. the expansion pack starting from RA2 until (i believe C&C3 as well) sucks really bad, it actually made the game imba. -
Those screens are actually a let-down, except that, as expected, the Soviets pwn the allies as always
-
Like I said, I'm not to keen about some stuff in Kane's Wrath. The subfactions for instance. It seems like they're trying to make C&C3 Generals. I don't see the use of epic units too. Aren't Mammoth tanks, commando's and the like enough?
I'll buy, but only to see how the story continues. I like the Tiberian series a lot. Its just sad to see how someone thinks of a bad idea and they instantly put it in the serie and love it themselves. I liked how C&C3 went back to original C&C with a smoother interface. -
I liked the older C&C's better when westwood still made it. I had like every single game..
I stopped playing after C&C generals, everything just got out of hand. EA overkilled it. Westwood kept it simple
Anyone here remembered C&C sole survivor? The one where you get to choose 1 unit and run around the map picking up crates? -
-
Survivor. Brings back memories. Was a hard game though. Everyone choose the uber units.
Covert Ops was just nuts. OMG, those missions were hard. Westwood was being sadistic when they made that game.
