    Hey all,

Really interested in purchasing this, I check out reviews online for instance gamespot giving it an 8.0....so not too bad. But then I read on here some say stay away worst game in awhile.

So the owners of this game, can I get some off the reasons why its good and why it's not? I know all about the Securom or whatever crap, doesn't bother me.....not a fan of it but not a deal breaker.

P.S. Some have said C&C 3 was bad but I play it on the daily :)

It's not all that good. I played the Soviets campaign on medium and it may as well have been on piece of cake...

Graphically it's just a reskin of C&C 3, hell it is basically a mod of C&C 3 with some new gameplay options added in.

I'm a great fan of the RA series but they've gone downhill since number 1 which was done by westwood studios and C&C RA 3 just hit a new low imo.

Great for multiplayer though I'm sure, but I don't play multiplayer.

Well, it's not great, but it's not horrible either. They went out of their way to make everything as extreme/cheesy as possible, but that was a stylistic thing. If you like that style, you'll have fun playing it. If you think RTS should present as realistic (is there such a thing?) an experience as possible, then you won't like it.

As for the gameplay itself, it's really the same ol same ol since RA. Nothing revolutionary.

That said, some missions of the SP campaign were pretty entertaining (bear + you!)...

If a bit of story is what you're searching for, it has none at all. But it is fun to play since it has an amusing side to it, but you can easily find yourself bored since it seems that the missions have a somewhat single dimension to it.

every person will have a different view so the best advice i can give is that you download the demo and see if it's worth your time and money.

for me, it's a good game. not excellent, but not too bad. i find it fun to play. it needs fair amount of micro, though, but still manageable. i can say i don't regret buying it.

edit: securom has been taken care of with the latest update. the worldbuilder (mapmaker) has also been released. i guess there will be more maps for me to play with. :)

I think the graphic of the two follow 2 different directions, while RA3 (which is supposed to be more "real") is more cartoonish while C&C3 looks a lot more real than RA3.
It's still fun to play but 's still a long way to reach its predecessor RA2.

This is about the only game where I've seen the demo and actually not wanted to buy it because of it. Attack bears and dolphins? What's up with that? The Soviet advisor didn't look Soviet at all, the acting looked very acted. It just didn't seem at all realistic, and the lack of realism in acting made it seem like more of a, well, game, than an actual war storyline where it's important that you win.

Granted I tend to like realism, but I could deal with a somewhat "futuristic" air. Although given the storyline that doesn't make sense - I think it's supposed to be present-day, with WWII still going on. Instead you have supermonster robots and the like - it just doesn't make any sense. Maybe if it didn't try to have a historical element at all it would work, but since it does make definite historical references (Einstein, USSR, Empire of the Rising Sun, etc.), it just doesn't work.

I didn't find the graphics that impressive either. Everything seemed overly saturated, and a lot of it seemed like sprites I'd expect in a 2-D game - sure there was some 3D but it didn't strike me as much more impressive than Age of Empire II, and it was well below Age of Empires III. Some of that could be to this being the XBox demo I saw rather than PC, but I'm pretty sure a lot of it was the graphics themselves, not the XBox limiting performance.

So yeah - I wouldn't buy this game even if it were a company I liked. But if you think you might like it, there is at least an XBox demo, probably a PC one as well.

Save your money until the game's price goes down to $20 or less in a couple of years. Its definitely not worth the $50.

X2. In fact I'll get it when there's a bundle containing Ra3 and its exp pack.

Speaking of expansions, was the C&C3 expansion any good? It didn't see to introduce anything particularly new to the plot at least....
