    https://www.pcgamer.com/red-dead-redemption-2-pc-announced/

Coming to Rockstar launcher (it's a thing now too), EGS in November, and month later to Gaben.

Was very excited back in the day for this game, but honestly the wait killed the spark in me I had for this game once and I don't care anymore about it... There's still a month until release though, so who knows, maybe I will regain the spark again. Otherwise will probably get it at some point later...

What about everyone else? Are you psyched about this game, or maybe already played this on consoles or have other games to play?

I watched in on Twitch. Looked really boring, but I really dislike this kind of setting in general. I played first RDR, I quit it out of boredom after some time.

RDR2 is by far one of the most amazing games I've played. There is so much going on and so many things to do. I really enjoy it and plan on getting it on PC to just see how it looks.

When I heared the news yesterday, it was the most exiting gaming news I heard in a very long time. I will be getting that game at day 1.

I expect the port to be very messy at the beginning but with time it should be ok.

Interesting to hear that. Both GTA V and Max Payne 3 ports were pretty good, so I would expect RDR2 to be a good port as well.

I really hope so. Never got into GTA V but Max Payne 3 crashed like hell on me at the time, most of the problems were fixed later though.

A buy for me, a good way to spend time before TLOU 2 & Cyberpunk 2077! If only Rockstar offered GTA 4 as one of the bundled free games then I might get it from their store.

Really? Huh. I recall it being pretty stable.

They've had a lot of time to work on this, so I expect they will not want any negative reviews due to technical problems if they can help it.

I wonder if the large size is bc of the audio and also the high textures? Would it be smaller if you just play in 1080p? Can't wait the last western themed pc game I played and loved was the Call of Juarez Gunslinger.

I was surprised to see the 1060 as the recommended GPU. Goes to show how potato the consoles are I guess. My 1070 has been sleepwalking for years.

I'm really hoping they are painfully aware of how much good will they can generate if the PC version runs well and has no bugs. EDIT: OK.. few bugs... there's no such thing as no bugs. Especially in the wild wild west (see what I did there) landscape of PC hardware variance and compatibility nightmares.

I don't think it's a new game though so the 1060 was probably pretty good for the time the game came out. Wish they'd separate online and single player and uhd/qhd textures if you don't need them. I'd guess like GTAV it would be pretty well optimized though, really good work by rockstar or whoever did the port on that one. Oh and here's a pcgamer quote for you guys:

"RDR2 already looked pretty stunning on consoles, and it's hard to imagine the PC version won't be the prettiest way to play it, with or without the texture changes (though they're certainly welcome, even if they likely contribute to the 150GB install size). How well RDR2 runs on PC is another question, and we'll put it through its paces once we have a build. "

I'm so ready for the next generation of consoles to bump up the stress level. My 1070 has been sleepwalking for far too long.

RDR2 is less than a year old.

If you’re gunning for 120Hz I fail to see how it has been sleepwalking, unless you only play old or non demanding games, or your CPU/RAM is bottlenecking it.

yeah it's comparatively new, not in vg terms that's for sure, but it's a console game originally though so it's not too much for up to date equipment. That's obv most likely for 1080p60 settings or even 30fps too bad they don't put those details in the recommended equipment in most games.

Bought special edition as well cuz I am pretty sure I won't be doing any multiplayer.

I actually thought when you buy special for the price of normal or when you buy ultimate for the price of special, that this would be your upgrade. Maybe I am wrong.

Gonna probably buy a small ssd just for this game and plug and play as needed with the sata to usb3 cable I got off of eb, worked great for my small spare ssd's so far. Have GTAV, FO4, TW3 on one of them no problems. No more physical room in my laptop for internal mounting. I can just plug and play in my other laptop, but at much lower settings, too.

Im buying this once the reviews come out, not interested in a buggy pc port but with rockstars history im sure its a non issue.

Looking at performance reports what do you people think - is this a new Crysis and soon people will be saying "but can it run RDR2?" or is it just a bad port?

Had zero crashes so far. With RTX 2070 average is 55 fps all high / Ultra textures / medium TAA / 1440p. The annoying part is the dips in fps, it dips abruptly toas low as 10 fps sometimes.

I believe it will get better with time, updates, customization ideas, guides and so.

I called it, this is why a week ago I bought a xbobx one s.

Pc gaming sigh...I have been gaming on pc since vette and that was 1997..

now all we get is poorly optimised ports and there is litterally no reason to own a desktop this side of mods....mods is the only thing keeping pc gaming going and it's sad..... cutting or bleeding edge games like crysis have not been coming out for well since half life 2 and crysis...thats like 14-12 years.

I wouldn't mind discussing the point.

I was going to get a ultrabook for the internet ecetera... and a xbox one for gaming this generation But I refused to give up on pc gaming and stuck it out, boy was that a mistake..

this coming 2020 holiday season Im buying a xbox two or ps5 pending features and exclusives

and getting the thinest lightest and longest lasting ultrabook with a great screen, and if I do want to play older titles and games like age of empires 3 ect I'm sure the uhd 620 can handle some 1080p light gaming

Rockstar Launcher problems aside, maybe if one can't max out the game on 4K/60FPS doesn't necessary mean it is a bad port. Whatever happened to "Crysis the sheet out of the game"? I remember back in the day 6800 Ultra wasn't able to max out Battlefield 2 and keep 60 FPS, and on my 6600GT I had "ultra" options greyed out (heh, I mean really, why a sane person with 6600 would even consider to run that game on "ultra"?).

When again, maybe it is a badly optimized port, and come Saturday, when I will be able to finally play it, I will be also outraged and my E-peen will feel threatened by the fact that I have to reduce some settings (though in my case ye ole i5 CPU will most likely be the limiting factor)...

    Some performance analysis:

Relax, everyone has been talking about death of PC gaming for years... Yet it's still alive and well.
Judging the entire PC gaming scene by the release of bad AAA game ports is wrong...
