I originally had a D810-Win XP-2mb Ram-ATI X600 ( 128mb vid card ) and it played both Red Orchestra ( Unreal 2.5 ) & Combat Mission games ( 2K time-frame ) well. However it died, either to a T-Storm or Bad Battery ( 5 yrs old )...Just not sure which, but laptop doesn't power up onymore. Some mentioned that a laptops battery acts as a buffer from a power-surge, ( or the battery just died due to age ) and replacing with a new battery might work.
Now, after I purchase a new battery, and the laptop still doesn't power up I am looking at the following older laptops; Dell XPS M1730, D830, or D810 to play the above games...Which of these below will work best ?
The D830 w/Nvidia 140nvs, but its considered a business Graphics graphics card, and not sure how well it will play Red Orchestra.
The M1730 Gaming Laptop to play the above games as well as Red Orchestra 2. It looks like all these come with either Vista or Win 7, but prefer to get XP installed instead.
Any info would be appreciated.

Get the 1730.
And there is absolutely no reason to prefer XP over Windows 7. Windows 7 is by far the best OS Microsoft has released in over a decade. -
Ok, until I get funds in order for a Dell XPS, I am deciding on the following:
Dell D810 Pent4 w/ATI X600 ( 128mb video ), or the Dell D830 Core 2 Duo w/Nvidia 140nvs ( business Graphics 256mb ).
Will the Nvidia 140nvs perform similar to the ATI X600 or is it better ?
I plan on using either to play Red Orchestra: Ost 41-45 ( Unreal Engine 2.5 ), and the Combat Mission ( Cmbb & Cmak ).
Red Orchestra & Combat Mission ( BB & AK )
