    Hi,
I recently bought a LG W2361V-PF 23" 1920x1080 LCD from Best Buy for $219. Its got great picture quality and is definitely fast enough for gaming with no ghosting.

The problem I am having with it is pretty minor, but it happens on both of my laptops - an Asus G50VT and a Dell XPS M1530, both running nVidia 185.85, and both using HDMI. Basically when the LG monitor is connected as the primary display and the monitor turns on (for example after being idle or upon bootup or reboot) the LG LCD correctly displays 1920x1080 @ 60Hz for about 5 seconds, then the display will go black for about half a second, and come back on at a reduced refresh rate. FWIW, the LG On-Screen-Display shows it as 1080i 50Hz, but Vista Display Settings shows it as 1920x1080 25Hz Interlaced. So basically I have to go into Vista Display Settings and manually change the refresh rate to 60Hz every time.

Any ideas? Is it an nVidia driver issue since it affects both laptops? Or could the LG LCD be defective?

    Thanks!

Easiest way: Try it on another external screen and see if the same happens - if it does, its problaly a driver problem :)

By the way: Welcome to the forums! :D

It looks like the latest nVidia driver 185.85 is the problem. I rolled back the graphics driver to 179.48 Beta, and it works fine.

Again, this is on two different laptops, running 185.85, which isn't a Beta driver. Strange.
