For some reason whenever I'm on battery power my Intel HD GPU switches the refresh rate to 40hz. I tried changing the power plan to "balanced" and "high performance" in the graphics properties, but that didn't help. My power profile is "balanced" in Windows 7. Does anyone know how to keep it at 60hz? Thanks.

I'm not certain, but can it be overridden in the Windows Display Resolution menu under Advanced Settings, then Monitor?

Changes made there are usually accepted over the Intel IGP Control Panel.

Did you have a look in "Intel(R) GMA Driver for Mobile" in the Control Panel There should be an option for Power stuff in there.

Could you post a screenshot of the Intel GMA control panel options?

Regarding the power it's just maximum battery, balanced, maximum performance. And then on battery there's another power option that has to do with the screen... there really isn't anything there.
