I want to get rid of Steam from my machine. When I look at add/remove it says the client is 1.4.. MEG, but the program files folder shows 12 GIG.
I do not want to save any games.. TIA

Once you uninstall you can just remove the folder in 'Program Files'. Normally inside of the "Steam" folder there is another folder called "steamapps" where the game install files are.

You can also uninstall the game files from the steam client one by one which would take longer to click on each one. You go to Library -> Right click the game and click "Delete local content..." for each game that is installed.

Yeah it`s because of the steam games you have installed are inside the steam folder plus the saves.
They can be found in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps

WOw that was fast! +1 to the first responders
I also plan to use CCleaner (latest version) because I just removed 20 + other programs. any point to using CCleaner also to remove steam traces? I just did a system image and want to be thorough.

If you use CCleaner to uninstall, I would still go through your registry and look for any instances of the word "Steam" and delete those.

Not a hater, only have .75 Mbs conncetion so chat in Steam is iffy, online gaming is out of the question. Plus I made the mistake of installing on my SSD and 50 GIG out of 74 were filled. I got it down to 15 last night.

If you want to reinstall on the HDD, i wouldn't delete the steamapps folder, it can simply be moved from one drive to another. If you want to completely flush steam from your system disregard this.
