I have a Dell XPS M1710 and I’ve been having issues with the graphics card (Part# GU067, Graphics, 512MB, IUPGA4B Mid-Life Kicker). Can I replace this with a different card? If I can, how can I find compatible cards?

I believe the best card you can get is a 7950GTX. Is this what you currently have?

Yes, that is the card that I have but since I'm on my second one I'm affraid that this card might be garbage. So, since they cost over $300 I'd like to find a better card.

There really isn't a better card. Your next best option is probably to sell it and get a new machine.

Sad thing is; it is practically new. Dell replaced the heat sink, processor, mother board and graphics card. Now I'm out of warranty with another dead graphics card. I used to love Dell but after a two year struggle with both the computer and Dell’s technical support I'm done with them.

once your graphics card dies, bake it in the oven

In fact , if u don't want to spend ur money , just bake ur card.. it might just work otherwise just sell ur laptop for scrap and buy a new one.

served with fries is the best bet.

    :D

but ye give it a go. 180 degrees C for about 8 minutes, its supposed to reform broken solder points and lines.

i will be doing this on my card in the near future
