Not unless specified otherwise. Especially HP's, they are famous for their precision engineering of their lines of laptops in the past, to have a MTBF exactly week or even days after warranty period. Building laptops with replaceable vital parts is the last thing on their greedy minds.

Unless it's a MXM socket GPU, laptops with those are very few, no. I don't think your HP has a MXM GPU, it's probably soldered to the main board. There's a sticky about that in the hardware section if i recall correctly.

You will have to replace the motherboard and the heatsink assembly and maybe the fan as well, provided your notebook model came with a different+better graphics card.

So it might be possible but will not be cheap or a sane thing to do :p.

Sell your notebook on ebay and get one with better graphics.

Best solution, keep ahead of the hardware curve, once a year sell your next to new lappy for almost buying price, then take that money and buy this years new thing with minimal money added. Best way to stay current, downside is always moving over all your info again, and again, and again.

Why would you order a laptop with the expectation of changing the graphics card when you don't even know if you can? HP has a great return policy, no questions asked 21 days. So return it and buy the laptop with the graphics chip you need.

Well,i need a quick ship model and the 4295us meets all of my expectations..but i only hoped the graphics card could have been a little better...its not a deal breaker for me ! But i would have liked a better one, thats what i meant...i guess i will have to live with this and as people suggested, keep selling on ebay and keep up with the latest models !

Or buy what you need now, don't go overboard, and replace it when it either quits working or can't even run new games at 800x600 with everything on low.
