I was looking at games in Game & looked on the back of one, it needed a 1.7Ghz process 2 run on XP or a 2.4 GHz processor 2 run on Vista, most laptops now are dual core so would a 2.0 Dual core laptop be able to run this game (supposing the laptop matches all the other requirements obviously)?

yes....those 'requirements' for CPU are scaled using the old Pentium 4's, so the core 2's would definately meet the requirements

In general, minimum processor speed requirements listed on games are based off of single core Pentium 4 chip speeds. So yes, a 2.0 dual core processor is more than sufficient.

However, lots of newer titles state minimum speeds for dual core chips, so read carefully.

(changed your "2"s to "to"s to make your post less confusing.)

Thanks Tony A for pointing that out about the "2"s & "to"s, usually I'm good and proof read before posting, but you caught me out that time! lol! I think it didn't really help that I was on MSN at the time of writing & posting this thread!

Well both of you have been a great help, I'll keep my eyes open to the 'minimum speed for dual chips', thanks again, very helpful!
