awesome.. hoping for a better port this time =)
-
Sweet! I am looking forward to having it
-
Devil May Cry 4 was very well ported and people have faith that RE5 will be just like that aswell.

Capcom does well on ports...i cant wait.
-
Well, it's downloading now...
-
Thanks for the headsup, really looking forward to this game should look stunning if ported well.
-
Downloading.
I wonder if the tool is an actual normal game benchmark, or will it need to be used with the 3D glasses... -
I tested it my fps around 22 23 when i play at 1080p
and around 35 when i play at 1280-720 all setting defaut no AA AS it's already beautiful and smooth.

Well they got more experience since re4. They did port alot of other games so i think they will do fine this time.

does it show actual game footage?
or is it those weird images or stuff -
Tested it on the variable benchmark for performance.
I scored B, with average of 56.8 fps all high at 1360x768.
With vsync enabled, I scored B with 54 fps average.
The game looks beautiful but damm I wish it didn't have such mechanic controls. It needs more fluid movement.
Great game, will probably get it.
Edit: Insanechinaman, yeah it shows actual game footage on various parts of the game with several enemies on screen. -

download benchy now. will post back. -
Whar's wrong with the SFIV port? People are running it way over 100 fps...
-
Thankfully, there's tons of mods now to make RE4 much much better on the PC, with some mods like high-resolution textures that blow away the original console versions.
This will be a great port as well. Like recent Capcom games like Lost Planet, Devil May Cry 4, etc. it uses their MT Framework engine which is designed for PC and the games are then ported to consoles, even though the PC gets the games last, we will get very good, optimized ports.
Thanks Capcom and I hope more engines are like this, so the PC can easily get multiplatform games and well optimized ones too! -

Also online they need to force fixed frame rate, people set Variable as its default and it induces lag.
Game is good, and it was ported well but definitely has some issues that need resolved. -
ViciousXUSMC, does the PC version of SF4 support two players? I fear that the PC port only supports one-player offline.

@Rahul yes it supports 2 players in versus mode, but not on keyboard you need a controller. Online its 1 player vs the world. I really like how they implemented a challenge system.
Instead of just going "online mode" and looking for a battle, you can play standard 1 player offline arcade mode and somebody can join in and challenge you at any time just like in the arcade. Its actually faster for me to do this than go online as somebody usually joins in to fight me before I can get 2 hits on the cpu in the first round.Last edited by a moderator: May 7, 2015 -
ATi cards are having real issues with this game. You can start at post #49 of this Neogaf topic, if you read other people's problems and solutions.
EDIT: it seems that some ATi cards are having a problem with DX10 only. -

Since they are now on #5 I think its time to just stop and if they want to continue with this type of game call it something else. Call it RE again when its like the originals. -
Looked like left 4 dead to me
-
I think it has way better graphics compared to Left 4 dead.
Just my opinion. -
Of course it does, i was referring to ViciousXUSMC's post.

You don't happen to know of a mod to get rid of the button mashing scene's do you?
I did look age's ago and found the texture mod,but nothing on getting rid of the woody woodpecker act. -
I ran a single 8800m gtx and sli (or tried to). I ran both tests at my native screen resolution (1920x1200) on DX9 and DX10 with v.sync turned on (to decrease screen tearing).
Single Card:
DX9 - Avg fps 40.7 - Grade B
DX10 - Avg fps 40.5 - Grade B
I tried sli, but it didn't show as 8800m gtx sli on the benchmark test (so im guessing it doesn't work??). I even set up a profile on the nvidia control panel and forced afr2. The visual indicators didn't pop up, so im assuming the benchmarking tool doesn't utilize sli?? I know I have sli turned on cause the visual indicators were on when i opened up L4D.
Just for fun I ran the game at a lower resolution (1280x720)
DX10 - Avg fps 70.4 - Grade A - v.sync turned off
Other thoughts: The graphics look great, but gameplay isn't fluid at times. Especially when doing quick turns the screen makes your eyeballs want to throw up. This game is def suited for 120Hz screen, just too much tearing, but v.sync helps a little. Does anyone know if this game is CPU or GPU intensive? Check my sig for complete laptop specs. -
You need to rename the executable to FEAR.EXE to get it working with SLI.
-
So this one isnt like those? -

P8600 at 20% OC (2.88)
Mobility Radeon 4850 @550/900
All High, No AA, No VSync, No blur, 1680x1050, DX10
58.6
From the sound of it, ATI cards have an issue with AA in DX10 and possibly Crossfire, so this test did not have the crippled scene 3 that some have experienced -
To start off, I really like this benchmark. It's a good successor to the DMC4 benchmark, more taxing but still very GPU dependent. CPU temps verify that. It's also overclocking stable, I was able to bring core to 650/1625, and memory over 1k, but I didn't get any better benches than these so I didn't save them.
These are both variable, 640/1600/1010, DX10, motion blur on. 1080p. Second one with 8x AA.
Only 8 FPS behind Vic

This looks to be pretty taxing on mid-range cards
Got the following result @ native res, w/ no AA
Stock clocks on my GPU
I noticed a slow down, only once, but the game looks GREAT, and I won't mind changing a setting or two to medium because at least they ported it
I'll overclock and post the results later today
PS - Respect Vicious and 'NotherGeek, some sick results -
How about a Quadro 150m, can it even run the game (non 3D)?
-
Hey there
I ran this benchmark on my N50Vn
Everything high, 1280x720, no blur, no AA
I was getting fluent 20 fps all the time and it jumped from time to time to 30,40 fps. Overall the game looks really nice and smooth. I don't notice slowdowns even if it shows "only" 20 fps
I gona get this game since I know now I can play it with high graphics in native resolution -
Does this game only have 3D?
-
-
-
I hope this is nothing like the Resident Evil 4 port. I mean that one didn't even have mouse support... It was either keyboard or controller. How can you do that on a PC FPS?
-
Capcom now is the god of PC ports. This and Lost Planet 2 will be amazing.
