I have 3000U and its top notch. USB 3.0 and it is elevated perfectly for use on a bed so that the fan can still get enough air into it to make a difference. I find the one large fan a much needed improvement on the 2000 model and air holes are drilled across the board.

Air flow is not its best feature but it provided a cool flow of air to the bottom of the laptop with minimal noise due to the slow RPM.

I use an NC-2000 (little outdated, I know, but still) and it has served me very well these past 3 years. My laptop goes from getting pretty uncomfortably warm to feeling almost cool, even when it's 35 (95) degrees outside.
